the wrap around never came and it is clear and not even that cold here in Vail. Weird that the little blob of moisture over GWS, Rifle, Battlement Mesa, etc...keeps going off. WEIRD storm. Heading to Denver tonight at 6....it can stop anytime it wants.
Solid 18-20 inches in my front yard in Edgewater. Blower too. Shoveling was a breeze, and driving was fun.
16" total here a couple miles north of the DTC.
15 to 18 in my yard, with 36" deep drifts....NOT fun moving it as the layer on the bottom is heavy and wet.
Dam Road is closed, but the grassy side is good to ski :)
10" in Alma
14" in Fairplay
7" or so in Breck and currently snowing lightly due to some wrap-around moisture.
8" in Snowmass... started making snow today too.
Still snowing in town too. Hopefully it keeps coming down all day. We need to catch up to the Front Range a bit...Quote:

Crazy how many little micro climates there were. ^^^ and I started the morning out at Geneva Basin thinking it'd be buried. There was a good foot at Grant but the higher we went the less snow there was. At the top there was MAYBE 2 inches. Really odd.
So we went for a little drive and ended up Rollinsville. Good times.

I'd say there was a solid 26-28" of somewhat settled blower on the pass road. Going up was faceshot city. Only stopping to unclog the air vents.

thanks for the photos ^^^ and pow4brains...looks like a nice time was had. we drove south past grant, over kenosha, on thursday and found the weirdest snow totals, big amounts around conifer and evergreen, all the way past grant, then nothing over kp all the way to fairplay and then very slick snow pack roads all the way to salida.

Basically, the conditions are: if it is the weekend, you live in Denver, and you like to ride; ITS ON. If you live in Summit you would probably have fed the monkey enough times already to sit this one out until the next storm.

Warm and sunny this weekend, but the NOAA 6-14 day outlook suddenly changed from very dry and warm to cold and wet.
after driving to the airport on Thursday night in white knuckle conditions and seeing shit tons of snow everywhere, I was a tad shocked to see basically everything melted out when we got home yesterday. Even in the foothills, anything south facing and all that snow was gone.
WARM is the word for today and tomorrow. A small low and a breaking down of the ridge in store for late weekend early next week. Then another small ridge for mid to late next week.
ULLR has left the building. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Goodnight.
Just wait until it rains in January all the way up to the top of Vail mountain if your surprised at snow melting in early November. That Thursday you left, I doubt it snowed more than a couple inches in Eagle Vail.
