Don't ask why but I just watched a bunch of videos on anti-rust products. The CRC 6026 Corrosion Inhibitor looks like good stuff. Does not wash off with water, dries to a hard wax/film, and one can would probably do that whole bike.

nice. Got a frame in my basement I've been waiting to build for years.
Napa Rust Proof M/D is killer stuff too. You have to thin it well. Rust converter/inhibitor with UV topcoat properties. If you want it any color other than grey, gloss black, or white, you will need to topcoat it anyway.
Hardly the level of many here but I suck at building shit..it's level and square despite unlevel walls/floor. Tapconed to wall..3/4" finished ply top. All in about $100. Front legs are pressure treated in the event of any water, it is a garage. 8'wx3'dx38"h.
My first ever house where I have space for a workshop of sorts. I'm psyched. Wife not so much as she knows where I will be a lot. Lol. Also has a fridge w/ beer in garage. Bonus. Attachment 356122

Level, square and flat is a lot harder to do than pretty. Especially flat. Not that it isn't pretty.

Get a quick release vise if it's not more than you want to spend. I have learned the hard way that it's easier to have the vise and factor in mounting it before building a work bench--to avoid having to modify the bench after the fact. Not a big deal though.
And BTW, mounting a big heavy cast iron vise to the underside of a workbench by oneself has a lot of similarities to mounting a disposal.
I don't need anything fancy vice wise and we did consider it when building. I may need to add 1 small piece of 2x4 to make it work. It is nice to have a workspace.Quote:

I think I'm ready to check into this thread. House remodel is complete. We're tired of crappy particle board furniture, but being in CA real wood furniture is stupid expensive because we only grow redwoods and palm trees. So that means it's time to figure it out. How hard can it be?
