^^^ didn't realize Cottonwood would be closed all summer. Was thinking about camping up that way.
On a separate note: Silverthorne to CB, what's faster in the summer? Down and around via Monarch Pass or West to Carbondale area then around via Kebler Pass?
Cottonwood will be open on the east side to the summit. Rumored access down as far as Timberline Trail on the west side.
Monarch. By a long shot.Quote:

True. No Cottonwood, put a fork in it, it's done til 2018 or even 2019. You can't even ride a bike up it to access the Timberline trail. I'll be curious if the Texas wheelchair crowd still comes to Taylor Park this summer. It would be weird to be up there if it wasn't the Thunderdome.
Thunderdome is an accurate descriptor. Loss of all the camping on the pass there will suck.
I bag 14ers in Tevas, bruh
EDIT: Trail Ridge will NOT open this weekend. They are still clearing the road and more rain & snow through the weekend.

Nice effort[emoji106] Where was the closure? At the turnoff to HV?
Bear lake acces closed at Sprague Lake, Trail Ridge closed at Many Parks Curve.
Skied mt parnassus yesterday, Winds need to chill out
Bailed out on recon tour at 4th of July trailhead in Indian Peaks at 10AM. Sloppy wet at/below treeline.
Anybody been up on Quandry recently? Some friends are trying to convince me early Saturday ski of it is a good idea...with wind/rain/snow and warm temps Thurs/Fri/Sat sounds like it would be shitty. But what do I know.
Eying up an SFB mission for mid week next week if stays cold enough. Anyone up for something like that?
