How have conditions been the last few days? Hoping there's still something fun up there for the long weekend.
Today didn't suck
I got out the previous Monday after that couple inches and found Hidden Gully filled in enough and soft, Saddle Peak from just shy of the summit and lower down on the football field closer to the boundary was great, while Z Chute was rock dodging after getting partway down.
This Saturday was pretty great. My father and one of his friends flew out to visit for a few days and lucked out to choose the time we get real snow. Didn't venture up to the ridge at all with them (they weren't feeling like pushing it so I brought the 100 underfoots), betting it was pretty spectacular?
Opening the ridge on opening weekend was a solid call by patrol. Played it safe in Bridger gully but snow was pretty good despite sharks on traverse and exit. Fingers crossed for this next storm

Ya I left Seattle 2 years ago, backpacked S.E. Asia for 4 months, got engaged, lived in a van in Australia for a year and surfed a lot. Now were in Missoula, skiing Snowbowl and looking for a house to buy.
I'll be back in Bozeman in a couple of weekends to move my grandma into assisted living, don't know if I'll have time to go skiing though.
This thread makes me want to move back.
Maybe in the fall if things break right for us!
