1:15 from 89 to summit? that sounds superhuman.
How about the slowest time. Took me 5 hours on XCD skis with 3-pins skinning up sun bowl.

We went to Sierra. Soggy storm day skiing.
Untracked in trees was dense, but very skiable.
Cut up crap was a drag. No Grandview lift, but West Bowl & Nob Hill ok.
Lot of cars, but not crowded on hill.
But shit man, drive home was pretty gnarly. Fresh snow on road, and no good using high beams, or you get blinded "where is the road?"

I was hoping for Disney as well but Jerome and xmas tree kept me smiling till about 2. Not many folks out there yesterday.
Great picks 6er.
This was 8:50am on the Disney side.

It us amazing how quickly the snow has developed those melt water "runnels" on top. Stuff you normally see in Spring.
Kinda vertical pillows of snow with fairly deep channels between.
Skiing it is gonna be bouncy!
Also, some pretty decent cornices that had formed on back of KT (Alpine side) have collapsed.
ALSO:
How come this thread (in app) is still showing Ruin&Rose Movie picture?
It used to show like the most recent posted pic. So it would be constantly changing.
All other threads seem to get the recent pics showing...
It is boring.
And it is an MSP pic isnt it?
Like you know, thah enemy?
If anybody needs a full-face, I've got one for you for free (pick up in Truckee sometime in the next month when I'm around, or other arrangement). This thing takes up too much space. Rights reserved to give it to somebody with more than a handful of posts. http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...emedy-S-Carbon
PMed ya.
It's not tahoe-specific but I owe it to Bob to post here:
If you've ever been out in the Wasatch backcountry you've probably come across the tracks of Bob Athey, better known as the "Wizard of Wasatch" . A soft spoken man with a great love of skinning and taking macro photos of insects, we would all be so lucky to earn as much vert as he has accumulated over his life.
Bob recently fell on hard times: his house burned down and when he was taken to the hospital he was also diagnosed with pneumonia. If you've ever been so lucky to benefit from his pre-dawn skin-track, now is the time to pay it forward:

Thanks Bob. Dude was an inspiration for sure.
Here's his SmugMug page:

(Seriously guys, if you haven't seen his stuff, it's sweet.)
Looks like he really loved his life.
Who can ask for more?
Circa 10-20 years ago, SB often ran Disney until they needed to close down the gondola due to wind and visibility....
Report of rain at 8000-9000 ft by failing and totally dishonest NWS is fake news! SAD

The heaviest precipitation has moved down into Mono County this
afternoon, with lighter showers continuing over the Tahoe- Reno-
Carson areas. Latest models show diminishing precipitation tonight
as the atmospheric river starts to break up temporarily and begin
to wave further north into the northern Sierra by Wednesday
morning. The AR begins to reload on Wednesday, bringing moderate
rain into the northern Sierra from Tahoe north to Lassen County.
