Golf is not a real sport, it’s a waste of prime real estate that would be better used for shopping malls and condos with plenty of parking.

When Michael Jordan took that time off for gambling, I mean baseball, the UPA sent him a letter asking him if he wanted to play some ulti. IIRC his response was thanks, I'm going to stick with baseball for the moment.
That being said when I was still playing at a moderately high level we used to say ultimate was where soccer players came to die.
Also golf courses are a waste of perfectly good rifle ranges or sporting clays courses.
Thank you waxman for starting a new thread, in the proper place, for this pedantic bullshit about golf and other athletes.

You're going to cite a made for daytime Saturday TV NBC special as your proof that ski racers are elite athletes? News flash, ski racers are the spawn of rich people in Canada and Europe too. It's an elitist sport that very few people participate in. It's like dressage. And it's becoming less and less competitive as it is becoming more and more reserved for the ultra wealthy.
If Lebron James was raised by a doctor who moved him to Vail at age 4 he would make Olympic DH champ Beat Fuez look like the flaccid limp dick that he is.

In that case I am holding out for Mighty Mouse to mop the floor with Superman seven ways until that Saturday and Sunday. Superman is pudgy, over weight, and needs trick photography to even fly! He finally shot himself in the head and didn't even need a Kryptonite bullet.
Further more... don't even get me started about the dire world situation, now that Jeff Beck has left the planet. Not to mention the fact that it is raining on snow all over the Northwest.
All is woe in Mudville.
This is the Shiffrin thread after all, altasnob could have at least respected the thread enough to use a picture of her man Kilde to make his point.

He looks pudgy.
Shiffrin is planning 7 races in 10 days. Two DH, a SG, two GS, and two SL.
Some are questioning the strategy, but GOATs are going to do what GOATs want to do.
Wow, how many are going to be "watchable" in the US?
I've been watching a fair number of races via the streaming site (skiandsnowboard.live) and I've been pretty happy with the coverage. Comments aren't always perfect, but the video quality and replay choices have been good.
YMMV, as may your willingness to pay for the subscription.

Shiffrin finished 4th in the downhill won by Goggia earlier today at Cortina. There's another downhill at Cortina tomorrow and a super-G on Sunday.
With 7th today, she just may have the Overall Globe locked down by the end of January.
And there it is, #83. In dominant fashion no less.
Overall nearly unreachable for the rest.
#1 SL
#1 GS for the first time this season.
Her haters said she would not be able to lock down another GS Globe and thus was slipping. The GS Globe is a three way race right now with Bassino and Gut-Behrami.
