sweet edit t2c! lots o cool lil clips jammed in there keeps it going nice. pov, handheld, time lapse, slomo, scenics and prob a few more i'm forgetting. i think there was a platter fence line in there too. i miss riding the platter on socked in days and having great turns huggin fence lines with nobody up there. what editing software do you use? movie maker won't let me upload alot of little clips. it just goes blank at a certain point. repete hooked me up with "videopad" and it seems intuitive but i'd like to throw in some smaller clips . slomo and some scenic atleast
I really don't know what is all out there for video editing but I would like to point out that I can replicate all the effects in t2c's vid using videopad. All except for that fancy personalized intro, I'm not sure how he did that, must be some voodoo computer magic.
ahh computer basics :fm: hack
20cm at SSV (most overnight) time to go skiing, and disobey my physio.
I might be at Louise on thursday, although I'm not sure what time I'll get out at. I have to find a way back from banff. but friday saturday I'll be riding the lake, but I'm down for anything.
Great edit T2C awesome vibe to it, and the time lapses were very well done! not to mention all that pow looked amazing.
Snowed all day at Castle...Almost rolled into the hostel to take a sick day tomorrow. Enjoy to any of you who are going this weekend.
Thanks.
Grinch, Sony Vegas is what I use. M R, it's actually footage of a bunch of day trips mashed together as opposed to 1 trip. The skiing gets more interesting as the season goes on also, as this was just December.
Lake Louise was $$ really nice. Blue on the back side to boot.
Any reports from KH??

play safe people, This is NOT the time to go touring.
"Some folks are saying they are remote triggering 20 degree slopes from 70m away on surface hoar. Large natural avalanches (to size 3.5) are running in the alpine where windslabs have formed."
Yeah, it was a good day for sure. Sure glad we were able to drop into ER7 right before some guy in a bright orange jacket beat it up.:fm:
Can't believe how many people were poaching upper ER5 today! Including some jack asses that got away with it on their first lap, and decided to go back for seconds. Busted that time...
lol...I have you on gopro saying "Kevin?" and then me going "how's it going" followed by A-J. hauling through the frame and you turning around and jumping in to it LMAO. Was waiting for my wife to show her the in. Dodged 1 turn left and had nice fresh. Got redemption by scooping a group of 6 in ER6 shortly after it opened and a group of about the same past brownshirt, so all has been rebalanced in my universe of line scoop.
lol...was it 2 snowboarders that came in up high above the rocks? Watched them getting jacked by patrol who was watching them from the fence. Seriously, to do it in full view of the chair and a patroller is just mind boggling. At least shoulder check and make sure patrol isn't watching for crying out loud. Hope it was worth getting kicked off hill before 11am lol.Quote:

Where? How big and how far did it run approx.?
My general attitude is there is almost always some thing safe to ski if you are smart about terrain etc however with that said there's no way i'm going hunting for turns out there right now. Been taking a back off and wait to see what kind of terrain starts sliding approach from a couple days ago onward with this hoar getting deeper. Some times it's just not a good idea other than to wait and see. Lots of incidents coming in from all over by the sounds of it alot of which is going unreported ,it's fucking inevitable with the size of that shit, been seeing it every where...ridge tops etc and in spots where it's usually at least a little windy...all preserved and waiting.Quote:

If it makes you feel any better, we were already on our own sloppy seconds that lap. We waited for you for a bit at the bottom, but it looked like you were going to be a bit. We got the very first tracks in ER6 as they dropped the rope. After tagging 2 rocks in my first 5 turns, I didn't charge too hard down there. Glad I could expose some of the hidden hazards for you...
I saw at least 5 groups getting caught in ER5. The ones I was talking about were 2 skiers that cut in as high as possible from Paradise the first lap, and then came from the ER6 entrance the second time. Maybe patrol shouldn't have been ski cutting it during touron week. People see tracks and figure anything is good to go...
Stopped in the flat there an kind of started a slow backward skate as I was waiting. Still took another solid minute or 2 to get to where you were.
Yeah, it didn't seem like there were more than a few tracks in there when we went in, must have been very shortly after. Definately wasn't an all out type of line. Thanks for showing some of the rock. Funny cause I was talking to Repete on the chair about how I lucked out last year and got to the top with no one around just as they cracked 6 for the season and low and behold there it was open...just had to go check it out.

MCR:
A Parks Canada helicopter flight over Sunshine and Lake Louise today showed a wide spread avalanche cycle is currently happening. Numerous size 1.5's to size 3's were observed at the alpine and treeline elevations. In addition a number of smaller avalanches were observed in thick timber in the Sunshine area. The average crown depth was 40 cm and the sliding layer was the Feb 12 surface hoar. In addition to the natural activity there has been 8 reported skier triggered avalanches throughout the region in the past 48 hours.
i picked them up for my dad who will be here for a week. figure its cheap then renting for the week so what the hell! put some demos on those for the odd person who visits. They are a weird flex. im going to ski them on friday see how they go. Im a pretty small guy so it should prove interesting
I don't think that is the first time he has had video or pictures of a goat.
I am starting to get worried for the goats.
That is why Kev uses skins - so the goats back legs don't slide.
Anyhoo - any thoughts of a major pow day at Fernie went to shit with the lack of cold temps.
It was pouring rain all night and most of the day.
What to do? Back to bed? Bar?
Nah....went to Castle and had a great day. It was absolutely dumping most of the day and cleared up right around 3:30.
Great day all in and a great trip south.
it was raining in Fernie today.... But snowing right to the base at the hill. We didn't get the 20 we were all hoping for, but the hill skied really well today. Glad Castle was also good, but just cause its raining in town does not mean that's what's happening at the hilll.

From today @ Castle...not epic like the other videos on this post and my editing skills are terrible, but the snow was soft and in the end...that's all that matters.
