Agreed. Longest line I’ve seen in a while at Loge for a non-pow day. But then the lot never filled and I was able to leave and come back in and get a spot at 10:15… I just skied groomers + Screaming Eagle, but my wife said there was a 3+ cat line wait when she started hiking before the cat came outQuote:

Pulled in to Tiehack at 10:30. Lot wasn’t full. No lines. Busted out a half dozen runs with #2 in 2 hours. Great day.

The train of injured skiers that continues to flow into AVH is definitely still chugging along. My wife has seen a lot more ski injuries in her clinic compared to previous years and I was talking with a buddy who works on the ambulance who said they've seen a noticeable uptick in skier injuries across the four mountains this season. He's born and bred here and skis daily, but can't really nail down the root cause. I think Hereos is a big piece, but broadly-speaking I think this season's the warm temps mixed with semi-average snowfall have created slightly different skiing conditions that are maybe causing more accidents and collisions. Skier-tree collisions have been high-rate lately.
Tomorrow could be wild. Looks like the gondy is already having issues with the wind but I bet Ajax trees will ski great throughout the day. Unfortunately I’m also booked solid tomorrow but hoping to get out wed morning
Forecast downgrade is a bit odd - I feel like I’ve seen these types of storms evaporate before hitting us in the past but everything seems to be lining up well enough that something good will happen
OpenSnow and Aspen Weather still seem comfortable calling for a 10-12+ outcome on the hill, but I agree there’s variability to how this plays out

Probably mostly just a factor of less traffic.

Gondola was shut down most of yesterday and they had to clear some World Cup setup to allow the public to ski to 1A. I’d guess the Gondola is spotty today as well.Quote:

The Knob and Campground were really good. But it’s hard to argue against Highlands.
Nuking on Ajax. Dense and deep if you ski the right runs. Icy bumps are lurking if you don't know where to go.

Traffic issues forced me to snowmass instead of the original plan, but it was a pleasant surprise as the skiing was blower. Still nuking. Tomorrow will be good. Cold, but good.
Yeah I couldn’t make it happen today, but got my boot fixed and skis tuned up. Tomorrow will be very good; right side up storm and cold overnight.
My wife skied Tiehack pow laps at 11 - she said there were only 8 cars in the lot. No one skiing…

Yep, I thought today at Snowmass was the best surface conditions I have skied so far this season. Wouldn't be surprised if Aspen schools have a 'make up' snow day tomorrow - and I think it's supposed to be clearing.
