Early lift issues at Bolton were quickly forgotten on the natural snow trails full of big bumps. 🤞🏼on a net positive tomorrow night.

Curious to see how this storm pans out for VT. Forecast keeps trending better.
Sbush could use it!
I saw a bunch of kids jump off of the rock on the CastleRock hike yesterday.
Seemed like a dumb idea but they were having fun.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bd6bd2884e.jpg
Back to the Maine bc. Not nearly the 3’ Vt likes, but we take what we can get. Phone only came out for one run and not the best photos to choose from. Surprised to be skiing uncut snow every run at this popular area. Between Wednesday and Saturday I learned my way around. Sure it’s a hoot when the snow is deep.

skied wall to wall in the laurentians yesterday on good skis and only glanced a single rock. the temperature swing is a classic east coast tease. it doesn’t look like we are getting the bounce back snow so i’m doubtful local skiing or even xc will exist.
BUT the snow totals north and east look obscene. could be a nice escape if anyone has time and wants to put some miles on.
That guy almost looks like he knows what he’s doing. Almost. [emoji56][emoji851]🥸

That outfit has such subdued colors, I wouldn’t have recognized you w/out the yellow helmet.

Watching the Jay area hoping the optimistic forecasts turn out.
In other news, there have been two skier caught avalanches up on Mount Washington the past few days. One in Airplane that sounds pretty gnarly and one in the bowl.

^ nah, you want to wear a red jacket and black pants when ducking ropes so you look like every other tourist on the hill.

Rained all night here at the Base o Magic. Started snowing at 7am. Temps marginal at 32.5
Hoping the folks further north saw a bit more of the white stuff.
Wife heard a report this morning on tv he might lose his leg
$teaux has 2-6 reported, pretty realistic. Skiing like more cuz it is so dense.

fun times hangin' with Peruvian and Doremite at the TeleColo film on Friday night; cheers guys!
Was part of the late arrival crew at the Bush on Saturday after a big night out on the town, but the snow was soft and bumps were fun for Day #1. Ripped a few laps on Sunday morning before/during the weather, honestly the groomers were a lot of fun with the warm temps and fresh groom; classic new england slop fest once the precip started falling but still good to be out.
My first ever venture thru the Mad Riv. Valley did not disappoint. Had dinner at the Blue Stone Saturday night; that place was fantastic. Overall feels good to be back in the swing of things; hoping last night/today is a net gain and we end up in good position moving forward.
Gave the wiods a try and wasn’t disappointed, but certainly still a lot of open streams and barely buried reef. This line was a-ok though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...45aacd1d7b.jpg
Some non mag friends “skiing light” to stay safe. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f1488044dd.jpg

Thanks! That is definitely the long term goal, gonna be a bit of work to brush off all the cobwebs as I haven’t *really* skied since before I was Ops Director there but I’m stoked to help build the teen ripper program hand-in-hand with my efforts on the tree skiing maintenance side. It’ll be great to focus on developing the stuff I really enjoy without going balls deep into the organizational shitshow I want absolutely nothing to do with.
Now I’ve got to find some reasonably priced heated socks or insoles though, my toes’ ability to stay warm is destroyed from the cold during the Ops tenure and I already know it’s going to be an issue.
Following up on my question from a month ago... I think I've narrowed the decision for the 23rd down to Belleayre or Plattekill.
Looks like Plattekill is scheduled to open this Saturday, anyone have a read on conditions over there? Are they opening 2 trails or most of the mountain?
Can get tickets for $70 at Platty and $94 at Belleayre.
Which place is radder?
i’m predicting a huge dump for Plattekill on the 22nd. but even if it doesn’t snow again this winter it’s illegal for a mag to advise not to go to plattekill when in the catskills. snow or no snow, always a great time at plattekill.
