As of now I'm planning on rolling up from SLC on the 19th. Lets plan on skiing the basin the 20th! I MIGHT be able to move things around with work and come up earlier but nothing definite yet.Quote:

Rock on. I'm probably gonna crash with my buddy in Cody friday evening then roll in to BT on sat. May bring a 4 legged friend along for the ride and party. Lets touch base as things get closer.

Really cool you can buy tickets in advance now. I bought a Monday June 8th and 10th. Daughter has been watching ski flicks all week. If it works out sweet, if not I can think of worst things to donate a sliver of cash.
Wife put together a meal list/dry and dehydrated food that we always keep on hand and some fresh ready for our good cooler...all in house ready to roll.
I really hope there is no cell coverage at our campsite. I need a break from the real world.
Here’s a few photos from last weekend’s session at the pass.
We had a couple great days of skiing car laps combined with skinning and bootpacking.
I’m stoked that I got to make turns with USDAtele finally. Also pictured is Nest and Mrs. Nest.
Camping was busy! But there’s incredible spots down off Rock Creek. Enjoy the snow while it lasts!

Getting mentally ready for this trip. Plan is to leave Tuesday night, get there and ride Wednesday and leave Friday. I emailed them about camping at their parking lot. Seems easiest but maybe I’ll decide to drive down the pass...
What stores are there for food, gas, firewood, etc? I’ll be coming from Montana side. I’ll pack snacks as much as possible but would be nice to get some hot meal.

Folks overnight up there in RV's? Road suitable for 17' trailer and 4wd tug?
Most folks camp down lower on the red lodge side. Definitely spots suitable for a trailer. Not sure about camping right at the ski area.Quote:

I usually camped on the plateau at various camp sites/down a dirt road etc. Lilly Lake was one of our favorite ones.
the small lot across the street from vista point is a good spot for a teardrop camper, if you wanna camp up high on the road, or right at the gardiner headwall
I was getting a headache after few hours up there. Bottom of the mountain at red lodge side. $20/camp site.

Screwing around on Cal topo I noticed some nw facing terrain north of Beartooth pass where 212 descends towards Red Lodge in a series of abrupt switchbacks. Does this area hold snow? Parking? Good idea or bad? Location 45.0244 -109.4162
I drove up from red lodge and no snow to be had until you get there. Appears any other riding outside of the resort is on cook city side.

Scout around. There is sweet lines to still be had on both sides of the pass but you have to get creative. We saw a local just after he nailed a super sweet line on the Red Lodge side, but I'm not going to draw anyone a map. We skied just skied the resort on Tuesday and Wednesday. So fun and just back home. Might have skied Thursday but my legs were absolutely fried.
I only rode few times. Mandatory slips to get in via cornice to steep moguls had me enjoying the view and experience more than riding itself. Steep platters didn’t help.
For those of you who’s been to club fields in NZ can tell you that this is US version of it.

It is steep. My daughter took a fall on the entrance to chute 2 on Tuesday and slid into the B-Net. Then she almost was trampled by a Moose at our campsite. Wednesday the snow was so amazing I had to quit before 3 because my legs were shot but Sage raged all the way to the bell. What a great week!

^^Great stuff uglymoney, glad you had a good time. That kid is ripping! We saw a few slides for life when we were there, one young woman went through the netting and hit the rocks hard. It was scary to see, but she was not seriously hurt. Anyway thanks for the awesome vids. Makes me want to go back!
