There is little demand for Oregon and Washington as destination ski resorts imo. It might be a side trip but I see no value add for the pass marketers to have those states. Probably why none of the resorts in Or/Wa have been acquired by The Force or The Empire.
I don’t want any more added riders but looking from the business perspective, if would make sense to lure people who wasn’t the target audience before.

Really, the problem I see is that whoever gets the most snow, gets inundated with people using their pass days on pow days. Rather than people just going to the one mtn where they have a pass, now they show up to gang rape pow days at the spot who reports the most. In the end, it ends up ruining everyone's experience.

Honestly, that's what's cool about the PNW, they have all these little resorts that all have their own style, and their own way of doing things. Maybe. If the summit isn't open it can be let down considering the logistics of getting there.; long lines and short flat runs. Although, it's great if you're a xc skier and/or looking for a late season golf and ski trip (when the summit might have a better chance of being open).Quote:

People visit here for many reasons and if they can combine skiing or snowboarding with the visit, it will be a plus.
CO and UT destination resorts works great if you’re going to stay in a hotel next to the hill with no need for a car but if you’re going to rent a car and drive around for these resorts, then PNW is just as attractive as CO or UT.

I agree. In last 25 years, I think I bought maybe 5 season passes. Rest are all employee passes. I would have looked into another part time job when I moved 3 years ago but the pass was only like $200...

Yep... which is why I said like $2500 in today’s dollars. Good for staffing and a real commitment to buying a pass. It used to be that SKIERS had season passes and people who ski bought day tickets.
Nope, I skied there last weekend on a free day pass. That mountain seems to form bumps in places no other mountain would. They had panoramic, eagle wind and the cirque shut down due to wind, haven’t skied those areas so maybe they hold hope.Quote:

Thankfully, I don't have to deal with the "tourist economy" much and I have other passions to keep me busy. This place has changed.
