This hippie was was built by THIS hippie, there is a stork sculpture in the backyard. Building techniques include pouring a foundation around exposed bedrock, laying fiberglass over the rock and framing floors with rough cut lumber. What has kept the house from falling in over the years while I fix it is the interior walls. They disassembled a Unadilla silo and used this for the interior wall surface. In the living room you can climb up the wall on the old hatches that are incorporated into the design, brings back fond memories of my youth climbing up our silo.
Anyone who has been to my place will remember this eyesore on the corner. Built 7 years ago and listed at $1250000 it had some major leaks and was only occupied by renters for 11 days. Going to the landfill today.

Good stuff going on!
Congrats VTCS on the coming new addition to the family/or has the babe already arrived? Special times! Enjoy.
Great job Irish Exit. Good stuff.
Cold the last two days - like it.
VTF, I can't believe that house is gone, after it stood the true test of time... 7 years?!
I know this is ECRC "Lucky 7", but this was year eight for Ullrfest, so there must have been a roll call for then?
Search seems to stop at 2007, but I found this oldie with some funny stuff about Sprite getting hit on by SeniorSkier, and him wondering about Earlywood... : Eastside Rollcall
Wow! The Great White Elephant crashes! Glad it was demoed... I'm still surprised it got approved by the Warren building dept. (well... kinda) Anything neat replacing it, or will that lot be up for sale soon? I remember when that went up; and was wondering how long it would last up there.
Hickory just posted on FB that they passed their lift inspections. So that's one hurdle cleared. Now we just need Ullr to provide what we all so desperately crave.
There's still some more cutting to do. Anyone who wants to earn a voucher for a lift ticket (good for any day in the next 5 seasons) can join the crew this Saturday at 8am or Sunday at 8:30am at the lodge.
Doesn't affect me as I'm not drinking yet, but I know a lot of mags here are fans of going directly to The Alchemist for their Heady fix.
From their FB page:
It seems that our server can't handle heavy traffic any better than our 35 Crossroad location, so below is the content of our post. Please note that we have a lot of moving parts that we need to consider and are currently exploring future plans, but it will be a process and won't happen overnight. Thanks for your patience and stay tuned for updates. Cheers.

A Difficult Decision
From the very first canning run of Heady Topper we have experienced a level of support and growth that none of us could have predicted. We had hoped our location at 35 Crossroad would be capable of handling the traffic, however with growth comes growing pains. In an effort to stay ahead of the curve we have made the difficult decision to close our retail shop and self-guided tour area. Effective November 15 the cannery will no longer be open to the public.
The good news is this will not affect our production levels. We will continue to distribute to all our current accounts but we are not adding any new accounts at this time. Alchemist and Heady Topper merchandise is available at our online store that we will be enhanced in time for the holidays.
Thanks for your continued support and patience with us during this transition. The support of our local community and the beer community as a whole has been both overwhelming and inspiring. As soon as we have further information, we will share it with you so please stay tuned for updates.
Thanks and cheers,
The Alchemist Family
ummm, thanks for the reminder J. I need to swing by and grab some today!
And you need to get off FB and get back to work... ;)
^^
Not surprising, the place has become something closer to a circus than a place of business. I wonder how they are going to handle the growler sales that they just started. I'm sure the retailers aren't too upset about this situation, more distribution/sales for them.
Something I've never noticed up here, I went to one of my local stores last Thursday (Wed. is delivery day for that retailer) and they still had some leftover, that's very rare.
Fucking heady topper lol... I am so sick of the hooplah. Fuck beer advocate... Ruined literally everything about that beer for me. I don't even care anymore.
Resin. :yourock:
I assume you tried the one I left with you? It's about as close as you can get, if you don't happen to live in a 10mile radius of waterbury. :rolleyes2
Actually yes, those are now my go-to ass kicker IPA thanks for opening my eyes to them! 9.1% is no joke and the packy at the end of my street carries them too... Along with Pork Slaps, Brooklyns of all kinds, Dale's and a shitload of other cans that are awesome. I love that place!
Resin is definitely a good one and imo a good comparison to HT but I prefer either of these or several Hill's to HT any day.

Ha, sorry, I'm spoiled:biggrin:! It's actually really tough to get Lawson's up this far, only one place they deliver to and if you don't get there within a few hours of it coming in it's long gone, not to mention the one bottle limit.
Edit for Tunez

Will it open? Best MTB in Vt. I wanted to move there in the 90's till the Driven One said it was "like MR without the snow". Times have changed and I am ready.
^^^ Awesome!!! (Also, awesome jacket that dude's wearing).
Speaking of exciting news here in the banana belt, if you haven't heard the mighty Whaleback is re-opening this year, driven by the Upper Valley Snow Sports Foundation. They're going the co-op route (like Magic & MRG), although with close to 2mil of debt, it's a long uphill slog. At least it means more fuzzy nights at the beer league for me this year :)
