For the love of Le Mans: Japan’s outlaw racers
Tomohiro Aono's business card is a pale orange rectangle that simply reads, “Car Maniac”. He hands it over with both hands, in the traditional Japanese style, then laughs.
Aono and his friends Takeshi Moroi and Senji Hoshino are all members of a fairly exclusive club. Not only do they own racing cars bred for the gruelling Le Mans 24 Hours – whose 82nd running comes 14-15 June – but they also drive them on the street.

Connecticut mechanic smashes customer's rare Ferrari
"The Ferrari's owner, Michael Fux, founder of memory foam mattress and furniture company Sleep Innovations, could not be reached for comment."
Michael Fux is in the mattress business? Huh.
This one happened not far from me last year:

Mclaren rear-ended by a dump truck. Mechanic driving the Mclaren.
Other than the taillights, beautiful.
i like panteras to look (but the mangusta is "purer")at but damn that interiors fugly

I like the front end and fixed headlights of the Mangusta. But rear of the Pantera wins me over. Most of the time.
Also not big on the interior colorway or gauges. Here's the background. Apparently Nike had a hand in the car's design.
Jalopnik
The big design theme of the interior started out as a sort of joke between the Ring brothers. They'd always talked about making a car that deliberately reduced the importance of the passenger, since, as any serious driver knows, they're just dead weight that complains when you take a turn too hard and they clock their head against the window.
With this comically-dickish concept in mind, they created an interior that's clearly divided between driver and passenger: the driver gets a vibrant citrus-colored cocoon, with bright, big instruments, and all the knobs, screens, touch buttons, and levers they'd want. The passenger's side is finished in a dull, matte grey and doesn't even get an A/C vent. No glovebox, no access to the radio, even the door panels are more basic.
This is how it's done... damn...
My new (to me) Italian sports car is being delivered next week and I am Stoked. I am already looking at parts to make it faster and lower.
Don't be a tease.

Nice ride. Have you ever modded a car before? Once you start you can't really stop and you're never really satisfied. In some ways it's just better to enjoy it for what it is. Just a word to the wise. But if you've done it before hey carry on.
What year?
2004 Maserari 4200 Coupe GT with vintage package.
I know this thread is about cars none of us can afford but shiiiit..
This kind of beauty has been around for 6500€ (what, 8000$?) and daaamh would love to get one.
Classic brittish engineering, so getting 300km while enjoying the massive 95bhp without a trip to the garage would prolly be optimistic..
But.
Damn. Tempted.

Edit : Car is MG B GT.
Pretty sure MGs spend more time broken than driving.
Nice car, bushman, those Maz's are such a great shape. A real beaut.
Hugh, is that one off thing street legal? Looks like a good time.

Sidebar: The prices of new vehicles is a lesson in sticker shock. $58k for a Tahoe and $62k for a one ton truck.
Attachment 157469,,, one of my rides,,, 56 ford
Not that long ago, I bought a brand new 3/4 ton truck with all the options I wanted for about $26k. The 1 ton would have been about $30k. If you want a truck that looks like a lexus inside, expect to pay lexus money for it. Why anyone would want a lexus that rides like a truck is beyond me.
same reason people want Porsche's that ride like suv's, luxury sedans, and obese coupes.
My brother and his wife got a 1 ton Dodge about a year(?) ago for $36,000. I was surprised. Figured it was at least 40. You don't need the leather and shiny plastic bits. :)
This rolled through my nephew's speed shop last week for some tweaking. The kid is livin' the dream

At least it has some miles.
While I credit the survival of Porsche on all these models (I still have a poster in my garage that says "while other car companies have a sports car in their lineup, Porsche has a lineup of sports cars"), I agree.
That said. There is still no substitute. ;)
Love, love, love, Stuttgart - and everything it stands for.
