Dusted off Gnarls Barkley's debut recently.
Perhaps not better, but certainly a worthy effort:
I probably posted this years ago here and too lazy to search.
Perfect Circle doing Diary of a Madman mixed with The Cure’s Love Song.

The other night I "stumbled" upon this gem of a rousing cover whilst watching Spike Lee's joint, Da Sweet Blood of Jesus. It was the best thing about the film, too...:
Interestingly enough, I had no idea that Spike's film was a remake of the 70s cult classic Ganja and Hess, so in hindsight it made perfect sense that he would include this cover in his version...
Here's the original:
E-Double, K. Murray, and Reggie Noble lending their distinctive flows to one of raps's seminal tracks.
They let loose with the original lyrics over the original beat, but throw in a few verbal changes here and there. Mostly I dig their flows better than the original...

Here's one I can't believe they even tried, but it works for the most part. I'm certainly not going to say it's better than the original, but it ain't bad.

In the Stevie Nicks vein…
Yup. In my opinion he is the greatest metal vocalist of all time. If he were fronting a more mainstream rock band I think he’d be up there as one of the greats. System was just so dam heavy it stayed on the fringes. Love them.

Agree, though this performance of 99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger is (IMO) much better than the link above:

These young musicians absolutely crush the original version. The singer (Kala Rose) is amazing here, and the drummer (Curtis Moss, at the time of this release only 12 years old) is a MONSTER. See for yourself:

Also: When posting videos from YouTube, etc., please note the title/performer so that when a link is broken, or the video is unavailable (sometimes a copyright issue in ootlands), your post is not completely meaningless

The bosses video is pretty good though
And then there's Whitey Morgan and the 78's cover which may be better than Waylons

Speaking of Tool
Probably already posted but...

Very rarely is FZ surpassed, but I suppose DZ had the benefit of time and added arrangements. Plus, having Eddie Van Halen as your music teacher growing up certainly does not suck. DZ's guitar solo builds and flows expertly, and this keyboard solo departs from the George Duke original and absolutely sings. Napolean Murphy Brock in both performances, decades apart but the same madcap energy:

Another killer cover:
^. Good ones. I’m a little pissed and embarrassed I didn’t put those up.
Mona (Bo Diidley)?
Codeine (Buffy St. Marie) ?
I think this would qualify as a Brubeck cover
And while I’m not saying this is better than Roy and Dale, it is a cover
QSM - best cover band of all time
Love the original, but would rather watch/listen to the cover:
