Got another call from Underoo’s pro Musky guide buddies. They introduced me to a river I have never been on that is only 45 minutes from my house. It’s a river mainly known for multi-day canoe expeditions, with campsites every 2-3 miles, perfect for safety meetings. No idea why I’ve never been on this river before. Still too early to target Musky, but open for catch-n-release smallmouth (a newly passed regulation that is awesome).
Water still cold, so zero fish at first, but as we floated downstream we monitored water temps and as we got closer to the flowage at the takeout we started to catch fish. We ended up with 1 pike and 3 smallmouths in the boat.
Fun day on the water.
No pics because photo uploader blows goats.
