Conor is awful fucking peppy...
Great effort , way better than expected, he needed to finish Floyd early to have a chance
They made huge bank but they put on a show. Much better than
I thought it'd be. Bar went crazy start to finish
Far better than I thought it would be. I give Connor huge credit, the fact that he was capable of pulling this off is amazing.
Money Team
Entertaining stuff. Conor did about as well as anyone could have expected and is it me or did Mayweather actually endear himself to the public with his post fight comments and behaviour?
seconded. and to those who say that this fight had more toe to toe then they've seen in ages, you don't watch enough boxing. hell, cotto/ kamagai was 12 rounds of close quarters war, and that fight aired tonight. I miss the daze of Roy Jones, and Comacho, and The Hitman[emoji8]

I'm a huge MMA fan and anyone who says Conor even looked remotely like a pro boxer, or "did good" doesn't watch nearly enough boxing . He was schooled. No amount of training (aside from lifelong) was going to help him here. He was out of his element completely

Yup, on a toe-to-to scale where Hagler-Hearns I is a 10, this fight was a 2
Now lets see one last match up. Same guys but this time they get to fight the MMA way.
Either way last night's fight went, they both won big time. I'd gladly take a beating for that kind of money. Even 1/100th of that money.

Holy shit you nailed it!
Funny - your post was the only one I really read - checked in to this thread to see what you all were saying because I'd been seeing the headlines but don't follow boxing at all. Can't understand the attraction of watching people hit each other. Makes my queasy.
Probably not. Mayweather spent the first 3 rounds figuring out McGregor's weird (mostly left-handed stance) style. Before the fight Mayweather had zero footage of McGregor boxing, so it took awhile for Mayweather to see that McGregor was vulnerable to a right lead. A rematch would not be good for McGregor because Mayweather now knows what he's dealing with.
See that's the thing Mayweather isn't so delusional that he thinks he can just switch sports because he is "tough". Mayweather knows he would be crushed in MMA. Again MMA and boxing are very very different sports.

thanks for links last night !
Hell yeah. Lauds to Madz for the linky
Yep, thx for the periscope links, I would never have watched it otherwise
i haven't watched boxing in years but mayweather looked much slower than i remember and it still looked like a clinical walk in the park. mayweather was never threatened and he had no fear. let mcg wear himself out and then put the 40 year old pedal down. walked away with $$$ and without the usual work or risk.
while neither character is redeeming and i do not generally advocate violence, i wish the ref would have let floyd beat on him a little longer.
thx 4 da lnx
Mayweather is a shitty human, but I must admit that I'm enjoying all the racist maga losers melting down over Conor's loss.

Never bet against the black guy.
Agree on all points. McGregor's punches did not appear to have much behind them. He connected a few stiff jabs the first 3 rounds, but all of his other punches were more slap than punch. McGregor's weak hammer punch/slaps were ugly as hell.
Mayweather laced McGregor 100 times or more. I've never seen so much lacing in a boxing match. McGregor's face is probably raw as shit today.
We couldn't see what the ref saw. McGregor's eyes may well have been rolling into the back of his head. I wouldn't be surprised if the ref saw signs that he was out on his feet. He was obviously defenseless when the fight was stopped.
I was surprised that McGregor didn't get knocked cold with some of those punches.
