Since the purchases are a few years offset, it works out the same as for any family getting milage around 20k/year and instisting on tires fresh enough to resist hydroplaning and have seasonally appropriate grip.
What about the added safety of season-specific rubber compounds providing better adhesion? Look it up, the difference is huge.
Triple-Treads in the three seasons and Altimax Arctics in the snow season...there are better tires but these work great and don't break the bank.
