As soon as we fired up the grill these started to come out of the jungle. They must know that its s 1500lb(british pound) fine if you get busted eating them. We stuck to wahoo, burgers, dogs and other goodies instead of the coconut crab.

Some new guys flew in for a couple weeks. Two fishermen with their first bonefish on their first day out. We kept their presence "off the radar";)

this one I just had to cast at.....it's not like they are paying me?

Small guy. I never even saw him, there was a big stingray and usually a GT or Two hover around them. I cast to the ray and this little fella popped up out of nowhere.
It took me 16 days of fishing but I finally managed to break my favorite 8wt......again. Last trip I kept her fishing about 25 days before the chain link fence snapped her, before that she managed to fish about 40 days before the locker door in my room won a brief battle. I have a spare and 11 more new TFO setups I can check out if I need them.
We will be having take 4 on the intro to fly fishing class hew in a couple weeks. I believe we now are over 20 folks that have made it through and are able to borrow the gear when they want. Fly tying class/beverage sampling night resumes this week.

This thread makes me want to sign up for a tour. Any need for a 49 year old bridge builder down there?

While this guy and another guy were doing this stuff.....
one of these(see below) ripped out of deep water and chased the small trevalley they were hauling in all over the flat. They said it circled them multiple times very very close before they had to kick it away. No fear of humans by this fish. Attachment 180268

As far as I'm concerned, that 12wt should stay in exotic service in perpetuity. Maaaaybe one day it can be signed and sent home to hang on my wall...glowing.

Thanks Mushy.
If we can do here, what we think we can do here...we could hang it on the wall at the "Undisclosed Location Fishing Lodge" ? Here are a couple pending items:
Motor for skiff already on order.
Lodge shirts currently in the design phase.
Facebook page coming soon.
Letter addressing our mission/purpose going out soon. It sure is getting very interesting out here.

Someone asked me what time we were meeting. This was my response:
Fishermen,
I think for transport reasons it is best that me meet in front of UPH-2 at 0800-0815. There will be 3 of us heading in from the lagoon on the 0730 launch. That will usually get us downtown NLT 0820. CHAPS has informed me there will probably be an additional 4-6 fishermen for the SAT group. The new plan for this weekend is to split into 2 groups. Experienced guides will be available for each group.
Game Plan for a Low tide @0935 4/23/16:
0820-0830 Depart UPH-2 for flats in 2 groups. Rod checkout on the way for those in need.
Group ALPHA to Thunder Cove and Group BRAVO to Incinerator or Banyan Tree(locations may be adjusted due to wind)
0845-1030 Fish locations above(results may vary)
1030 Groups depart locations for outer flats. Group ALPHA heads for GEODSS and Group BRAVO heads for Mile 9.
1045-1330 Land fish at outside flat locations. Tide will be 1.4meters at 1300 and some areas will fish longer than this
Notes:
1)Tide will be at 0.6 meters at 1030. By this time most outer flats will have just enough water to allow bonefish to enter these flats.
2) Mile 10 should be fishable before 1030 just across from the parking apron at mile 9. If no fish are found by Group ALPHA(highly unlikely) then an early move outside may be best.
3) Inside flats fishermen may choose to fish pink/clear shrimp patters for bones. These have been the most active patters in the last couple weeks. Dark crab patterns inside are the best bet for targeting tailing triggers. Try to NOT strip after casting at the inside flat triggers. They won't spook the way they do on the outer flats.
4) Outside fish continue to be attracted to Deceivers and Crazy Charlie's so long as they contain some amount of chartreuse. Dark crab patterns tied with chartreuse thread will likely produce.
5) Have fun!
6) Forward this email to anyone who is interested.
Please shoot Chaps or myself any suggestions you have for anything fishing related. We are looking at dates for the next Intro to Fly Fishing class and be sure to attend out weekly fly tying session at the Seaman's club every WEDNESDAY @1800. See you all out there.
This weekend's homework is to read about Jose Wejebe. He is a legend in the light tackle/fly fishing community. He is famous for his "warm and genuine personality, deep compassion, and uplifting enthusiasm." Sadly he was killed in an plane crash in April 2012. One of his funniest TV moments occurred while filming his ESPN TV show "Spanish Fly." A client was hooked into a 100lb Tarpon off his boat that swam into a set of pilings. Jose stripped to his underwear, took the rod, and swam through the pilings. He was picked up on the other side of the pilings by his boat and his client later landed the fish. He had an amazing mustache!
Crazy to think it's been almost 2 year since I posted anything here. The FB page https://www.facebook.com/undisclosedlodge/ has been going for a while and there are tons of pics to go through on there. I
I will get back to posting some more here since there are plenty of folks who just don't do FB. Besides it all started on TGR.

A new operator took over the management of the bulk of the island, they are failing on beer choices. You could just blame the NAVY too. :) post 2k too. What do I win? Hopefully not a shark biting my leg.

I send this out each week. Most of the people here work weekdays like normal people and then have weekends off.
Greetings Fly Casters,
Fly Fishing Class will be Saturday April 7th at 0900. Please spread the word.
It was been a while since a wx forecast and weekend tides have looked THIS GOOD. There was some real consideration for not sending out any info this week out of fear for jinxing the weekend. After some consideration I figured even if there is a single person out there actually listening it will be worth it.
I always talk about the 3 headed monster here of tide, sun and wind…this weekend mother nature is poised to deliver to us all three just the way we like it.
SAT: 3/31
Low-0.5m @ 0907
Any inside flat should fish well until 1030 and then it is time to head for an outside flat. With no wind forecasted there are plenty of choices. Mile 10 has been stellar lately buit there are times when the full moon gets fish spooky during the day. A theory is that they feed all night and just are not hungry the next day..???

Pretty much the same story as Saturday so maybe fish a different flat this day when you transition to an outside flat. I would prefer to be in an outside flat around 1130 but at times if the bones are eating it is hard to transition from flat clam productive water.
Enjoy the inside flats while the wind is still mostly out of the NW. By May we will probably see a transition to a steady SE wind, thus rendering the Banyan area unfishable. With a stead wind nearly 20 knots at all times you now will be putting to work the casting skills you have spent the last few months developing.
I hope to see you out this weekend. Be sure to let me know if you want to meet up. I will try to get a few casts in Friday if the wx is cooperating.
Have a great weekend,
The Staff
