Mammoth Mini 08 - May 8 - May 11

Well, you can find a condo for 4 or 5 people, even a 4 bedroom condo, for about $100/person for the whole weekend. Lift tix are now $64/day. So that $111/per person, per night seems like a draw, to me. By the way, that deal is also good for anything at the Village, stumbling distance at night.

There's a list of packages here, and coupons for things like the Alpenhof for $85/night. Or, Meadowridge will give you a free tank of gas (up to $100, with receipt) for 2 nights stay with them.

That's possibly a convincing argument ... anyone else interested in BC action? There should be a lot going on off Route 120. I don't know any of the routes in that area though.

Anyone ever try to skin into the resort before lift opening or from OB? I doubt they check tickets on the upper mountain or remote lifts.

maybe i'm off base here, but i get the feeling that about 99% of those attending the Mammoth Mini are well past collegiate age...(this based on my age and the age of those I rode with and partied with last year)

do they have like a middle-aged crisis discount?

You know, back when I lived in LA, I do remember Mammoth having rules like that on their college cards. That was 5 years ago though, maybe things are different now. Kirkwood & the Heavey on the other hand ... no age restrictions for full time grad students on the $250 passes :D

I still have my 22 year-old University of Michigan ID card. I wonder if that'd work? It has no expiration date. It also has no magnetic stripe and the letters spelling out my name are raised - old school, you might say.

If Schralph hooks up with Spats that would work for me. Then I'll have more room in my car and I can get my long boards back - don't take the binders off Spats - I'd like to try them.

Just because you are an old fucker doesn't mean you can't still be a student. I knew some people that took 20 years to get there degree. Spats has a place to crash, apparently. I've talked to him about carpooling out of Sacto, too. However, Fort FKNA really isn't far from town. Pretty close, really. Nothing's set, and nothings inked in, though.

Damn! Was hoping that student discount would work for a poor postdoc that still happens to have her student id from grad school. Still able to use it for some discounts here and there, but the link says you have to "prove fulltime enrollment with specific documentation". No way I can get around that if it's enforced.

So looking forward to this! Life's been really hectic lately and I definitely need a break! :D
