Popo reports out of Kamloops of a spree of gas tanks getting drilled for the gas. Mostly the lifted large pickups - easier to access the tank with a drill apparently. No one siphons anymore? I suppose those fuel packs would be even easier to stick a spile into it and drain it like a maple tree.

Don't gas tank spouts have a kink in them now to prevent theft via siphoning? Or possibly also to prevent vapors from escaping. Not surprised gas theft would become an issue again the way prices are going.

That was my first reaction as well - they be some bold motherfuckers along the lines of electrical theft in less developed countries I have visited.

But I think most modern gas tanks are plastic or some such, with only the armour being metal. Still sounds sketch to me though.

Was thinking if I ran into that problem, I might be leaving a jerrycan conspicuously visible, half filled with petrol, and a cup of sugar dissolved in it. Would be worth the cost of the wasted gas to fuck their engine up.

I may or may not have been driving when this pic was taken so excuse the shittyness. Cargo box on the back with Ski rack on top and a hi lift to the side. Roof rack on the sportmobile poptop and awnings on each side. Also a wench front and off road rear bumpers, arrays of LEDs on this lifted 4x4 van. Pretty sure there is a shovel mounted somewhere. Only missing condiment containers and a TRG sticker.

I think the main obstacle is a second spring valve at the bottom of the feed tube. I learned this when I decided to junk our Forester not long after I filled the gas tank. My old school siphoning skills got me nowhere; nice bonus for the junkyard I guess.

siphoning is old school... all the cool kids have pumps on their portable drills now. only 12 bucks over to the harbor freights.

Are the tires wider than the traction plates?

I left my fog lights on and found my battery completely drained. I drive a stick so I don't carry jumper cables. I went to 3 fully decked sprinters. Not one had jumper cables. Probably because they don't come in orange.
