Tribal Marijuana Conference: ‘A 10-Year Window for Tribes to Capitalize’
Jacqueline Keeler
3/2/15
Quote:
State Senator Tick Segerblom from Nevada, the father of Nevada’s Medical Marijuana law, SB 374, adopted in 2013 and co-chair of Nevada’s recreational marijuana initiative Treat it Like Alcohol warned, “The opposition has disappeared in this country...it is 10 years before it is legal everywhere. There is a 10-year window for tribes to capitalize on this."

I'm giving it < 10 yrs.
Then again when I read stuff like this I remember how slow we can be to make a change. Let's spend a bunch of money and waste a bunch of time on 'studies'. Cushing is a good guy, but he has to play the conservative political NH game.

it'll be cool if the tribes can grow some killer bud and then make all of whitey fat and slow -- i mean fatter and slower -- and then slaughter them and take everything back. wouldn't that be cool? buds instead of fire water.
Cannabis use is associated with healthier BMIs meng. Get edumacated!
a checkin from a leading cannasherpa.. predictable but I more or less agree. The dream is aptly named and up to the task.
Best of 2014: Pot critic Jake Browne’s ‘Top 10 strains I smoked this year’

Numero Uno: Blue Dream
Quote:
When asked for my favorite strains, the Dream invariably comes up as a go-to for hybrids that I regularly smoke for business and pleasure. It’s euphoric in a way that is enabling, in that I feel like whatever I want to take on will bend to the will of my high. Where Super Lemon Haze usually earns the nod for my favorite sativa (making the meh sample I reviewed all the more disappointing), the combo of Haze and Blueberry is the perfect balance for me between pain relief and remaining active. The well-developed trichs, boutique cure and discount price made it an easy choice for my favorite strain of 2014.
Gorilla Glue # 4 Nug Run. Lab tested clean meds
The new "beat count"
"Medical marijuana testing in Oregon is done by a cottage industry with an estimated 19 labs operating without oversight or clear scientific standards. While Colorado's testing industry is subject to tight regulation involving audits and on-site inspections, Oregon public health officials don't actually know how many marijuana-testing labs operate in the state."

Hmmm, a lot of people on this forum break bones, and get high a ton during recovery since there isn't much else to do on the couch all day. I didn't know there were studies showing that this might be bad: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19077584
I knew cigs, and too much alcohol were bad for fractures-- increasing rates of non-union, skin infection, delayed bone callus formation, decreased mineralization, etc..., but this is the first I've heard of any studies looking at weed and fractures. Just throwing it out there. Obviously the study wasn't done in humans, but enough to give pause...
Smoke indica instead of sativa :fm:Quote:
Considering the limitations of the present study, the deleterious impact of cannabis sativa smoke on bone healing may represent a new concern for implant success/failure.
NY took a hit on local availability, eh?

Umm, let's see, industrial-scale grow, shit tons of cash, and at least one gun. At 57 he was potentially looking at spending the rest of his natural life in prison. That's plenty of motivation to make a snap judgement to off yourself. He was probably looking at some stiff fines for the plant's CWA violations too.
According to the post, he was "slain" - that way Bratton can add it to the epidemic of murders from teh weed

Probably Mob backed. He would've never made it to trial.
Earlier I saw an ad for an upcoming show featuring free cocktails, food, dabs and vaporizer samples, along with prerolled giveaways. What a time
