I was right there yesterday morning. After not skiing rmnp all year, we botched the summer trail skin track a bit to get there. PLace is basically unrecognizable for january. Snow was fantastic yesterday.

Just spent three days inside the snow globe at Eiseman. Excellent conditions. Forecast looks to continue to hammer.
Any reports from RMNP?
I scrolled right past your guys post earlier.....Looks amazing up there!!! Can't believe the coverage.
Thanks man.. probably heading that way tomorrow. Hating the 34 closure this winter.....Makes my drive up twice as long
Continuing to snow in CB. Sock it to Me / Last Steep area is an absolute riot today !
Snow stayed perfect today on almost all aspects. Just cold enough. Yummy

Nice morning to stretch the legs. Snow wasn't blower but it was deep surfy goodness.
I went up Bierstadt today because I hate fun, and found really decent coverage and snow quality on a west aspect all the way to 13,500'. I don't know what's going on with this season but I like it.
Slept in and headed up to Cameron late morning. A couple inches overnight, no wind, and it stayed pretty cold. Great day, Lots of snow up there.

Up high got plastered with this last storm. Never Summers and Nokhu Crags look to be filling in nicely.

snow fell vertically for hours... what state is this again?
Had some family in town with a very limited window of time to ski this morning. Coming from Silverthorne we decided to drive to Keystone (I know...) with the thought we would head up to ABasin if the line to get into the lots was ridiculous. Unfortunately, never even made it that far. Traffic was backed up to 1/4 mile past the reservoir at 8:30am - both lanes completely stopped.
I know it's Keystone - and a holiday weekend - but naively thought an 8:30am arrival time would be enough. I guess the new normal is that you have to arrive to the actual resort one hour before lifts even open...
With hindsight, I'm sure patrol wishes they had done a few things differently, but it was also a once every 10 year storm cycle. On top of that, the lifts were having issues which made it hard to run routes. They probably should have been running routes and gotten packers out in Phoenix at Christmastime, but it's too late for that now.
Teo re-opened yesterday, and forest/peel opened for the first time this season. Which means they will move on to Phoenix/Spellbound. It will take days and hundreds of pounds of bombs before they open that. Coffey has to be scared shitless of that much snow with zero tracks or packing, even if things do hold together as I expect it will. I told skiracer88 that it would take 2 weeks to open terrain (which for me means phoenix and spellbound) a few pages back... I stand by that estimate. The rest of the frontside, 3rd bowl, and teo2 will take even longer. Unless we get another big storm, I still think we will be open wall to wall this month.
East Wall ABasin opened!! Yeeeowww!!!

Conditions are so damn good, too much fun down Sock it to Me again and again
They blasted the west side today, maybe that's next.
PSA: Hwy 50 between Sargents and Gunnison is absolutely loaded with deer & elk, they are everywhere. Drive safe.
Good pics.
I'm loving seeing how thick the snowpack is on the Rockies right now.
Keep the stoke coming.
Thanks for an honest reply. I had got the report about the chairlifts malfunctioning on Tuesday and heard they were not getting much to move on their control routes. I was also aware of the reasoning behind going with the extreme avalanche forecast. I was a little surprised when things cleared up on Tuesday I couldn't see big powder burns on Peel. Maybe they shot those runs but didn't hear or see sign. Bottom line is if they were not confident in their snowpack they made the right decision on keeping terrain closed.
Man it just keeps coming. Shoveled another 4" this morning and still snowing lightly. Brief shot of sun and no wind yesterday made for a pleasant day in the alpine.

Pretty darn wet sloppy snow today.
^ Not at the basin.. creamy wind buff with no crust. Even the Missus was enjoying it. Windy as fuck though, which was a surprise.. We were tempted to see what was going on in Zuma, but the increasing skier count, the parade forming down the pass, and the idea of riding back up Zuma into a 60 mph breeze was enough to dissuade us. Just packed it in. Pass is still open, but if the wind keeps up, it might not stay that way.
^^ the basin was delightful today (~22*)! Pali delivered and surprisingly was not a breezy ride due to the east wind. Also Zuma was great with zero wind!
Breck was empty (ski onto the lift), no wind (what???), and plenty of untracked. Made it back down to Denver in 80 minutes. Are you guys sure this was a holiday weekend? Heck, was easier than midweek even.
