I have journeyed over 12,000 miles from wall street to powder valley road at the base of the glorious Tetons (yes, few detours, and yes it’s all on 3 car mounted GoPros). I have come to deliver some humble words, offer some generosity, give back to the powder maggot, gaper faithful community and raise awareness for the charitable purpose that has come to define and inspire my latest journey. A few humble words . . .
I have followed with great intrigue the faithful who fill these digital walls with lore and legend, with sightings and (creative) imagery, with ideas and passionate opinions. The entertainment value has been high for many, but the power of bringing together those from different walks of life who share the same passion is eternally more valuable in my humble opinion. For those of you who have spoken with conviction, expressed your inner doubts & deep rooted beliefs and articulated your thoughts regarding my path forward - let it be heard here and now: the journey of the GSA . . . has only just begun.
My fellow maggots, gapers & disciples of powder everywhere & anywhere, the only thing certain in the course of any human, shredder or gaper evolution - is change. Change is inevitable, change is necessary and change can be powerful. Fear not what you do not know, for you shall witness light shed on a powerful story with inspirational meaning for all of you. You are hereby officially invited to share in the glory & power of a convicted belief that there is a spirit animal in all of us. I encourage and welcome you to come join me. I am confident that you will find the strength and that you will discover the courage to do so. I hope that all of you will have the opportunity to learn to better appreciate life as I have. With the gracious help of tetongravity.com, you will all soon come to understand the transformative journey I have taken as GSA and when you do, I challenge you to look deep inside yourself and come to truly define your own journey.
Some notes on gnar, shredding, pow & getting gaperish . . .
Rest assured I will shredding in 13 states, 7 countries & 4 continents this year in full GSA style and coming to a snowy mountain top near YOU. I am eager to travel to your local lift line or your backcountry backyard & share some of nature’s finest with you – chances are we’ll even get it on camera too, or three, or four . . . or maybe more? You may find yourself standing next to me in line at your local tram, or stuck behind me as I ascend your favorite spine to drop into your favorite bowl, hauling a ridiculously overfilled pack of GoPro’s, video equipment and yes of course – harness “accessories”. If you truly believe, I will be there. In this spirit, I will be ascending & descending every peak I can find & dawning multiple go pros, ions, contours and new sh!t you haven’t even heard of yet. I thank those of you who have submitted various ideas & projects and encourage you to keep them coming, I am very open to new and innovative ideas. And would I sacrifice my safety in the name of no harness? If you question the answer to this, I fear you are not a true believer.
Some humble notes on the GSA path forward . . .
I have gratefully come to discover that my purpose in life is much greater and infinitely larger than myself or any related construct. In the eyes of the GSA, life is not a race but instead a journey that provides us an opportunity to give back and make a difference in the world. This has lead me to devote my resources to raising awareness for charities supporting wounded warriors & special operations vets, among others.
I applaud your passion, your conviction, your opinions and appreciate your thoughtful insights. I also acknowledge those who have posted negatively, or maliciously in the name of humorous jibes and even ridicule. It has clearly provided relief for many from the often draining requisites of everyday life off the mountain, something we all need. As the GSA incarnate, I am but a humble, galvanizing servant of the gaper & powder maggot community. I am honored to be revered by many and am eager to give back to you all from the reserve of strength & experience I have gained during this experience. I can only aspire to represent the gaper-spirit in all of us to the fullest extent of my capability, and am confident that with your help - beyond even that. I seek to leverage your unbridled energy and focus to raise awareness for a noble & charitable cause – to help those in need and those less fortunate.
I present to you below an offering on behalf of my newly formed charity based organization . . . before I do however - for all those of you out there boot packing, trekking and shredding the glorious mountain sides of this country – I would respectfully ask you to never forget: sacred are the opportunities you are provided every time you set foot, boot or board on to freshly dropped pow, and hallowed ground may it be forever.
A few words on the charitable GSA in all of us . . .
The men and women who serve to protect this country are often never presented with the opportunities you and I take for granted. Yet the liberties they afford us are precisely what we cherish every winter. The ability to strap on your favorite planks or your favorite board, face skyward and ascend to the snowy heavens to find that elusive, next, epic line is but a fading dream to those wounded, injured or disabled while serving our country or in the line of duty. In some cases these brave souls have had their physical or mental capacity to do what we take for granted permanently taken from them. The traumatic realities of war and active duty service reflect true heroism in the eyes of the GSA, and I seek to honor these individuals by giving back. Many of you have eagerly expressed a desire to help me drive this initiative forward. I am humbly grateful for your help and with it am confident a genuinely profound impact can me made.

haven't looked at this thread for a long time. I have no idea what this contest is about. However it looks like a good thing. Not knowing any of the photos I made a contribution to Wounded Warriors.
That has got to be one of the all time first posts, love it!!! As a GSA believer from the start, I will definitely buy some gear and send some bucks towards the charities!!!
