Drill damaged hole to 3/8", screw and epoxy in this beast, and use a syringe to put down a layer of epoxy at the bottom of the hole to seal out water. After the epoxy sets, grind it down flush with the topsheet (use lots of water while grinding to keep the insert cool, so you don't bake the epoxy), and use the same M5 machine screw that you use for regular inserts.

Similar to last year, I recently moved out of my Whistler housing and am now car camping for the final month of skiing before I move back to Calif.
Last week, it was fun mounting and waxing these 3 pairs at the bottom of a stealth stairwell of a public underground parking garage in Whistler.
- 195cm Kastle MX108 2009, used, now mounted with used Jester demos.
- 189cm K2 ObSETHed 2011, used, now mounted with used Griffon demos.
- 193cm Blizzard Gunsmoke 2014, used, now mounted with used Griffon demos.

Demos so that they never need be mounted again?
All 3 skis had already been drilled for Jesters by previous owners, and Jester Demo bindings re-use all those Jester non-demo holes, plus I had to drill only 1 extra toe hole per ski for Jester demos.Quote:

Stealth Mounting

Episode 2 (the unexpected season finale)
I failed on my goal to mount ~20 pairs of skis during my homeless month of May, and ended up mounting only 6 pairs (and therefore only 2 episode posts). Something about that slow, grabby spring snow just made me want to keep skiing O.G. Hellbents instead of mounting more skis.
Anyway, back in May, it was fun mounting and waxing these 3 pairs at the bottom of a stealth stairwell of a public underground parking garage in Whistler.
- 186cm Atomic Automatic 117 2013, used, now mounted with used Jester demos.
- 188cm Rossignol RC112 2010, used, now mounted with used Griffon demos.
- 193cm Prior Overlord 2010, used, now mounted with used S900 DIN=16 (mismatched toes & heels), for 314mm BSL at -10.5cm from true center (-0.3cm from manufacturer recommended line).

The RC112 needed repair work. Previous owner had swiss-cheesed the heel zone, then ripped out an FKS heel (duh), which also caused a short section of metal to delam.

I bought the RC112 for US$4 then waited a week for the forecasted 80F heatwave to hit, which would help epoxy to warm up and flow into the nooks & crannies of the delam. When the heatwave finally hit, the skate park and cemetery were too shady, so I kept driving and found some train tracks that were sunny and hot. Only 2 C-clamps in my toolbag, so I had to do 3 separate clamp jobs over 3 afternoons at the train tracks. To distribute clamping pressure, I used 2 beater Scott Punisher skis (plus trash in my car like a Clif bar box, plastic bags, etc.).

Day4: Each clamp job cured 1 night plus next day in my “hotbox” Subaru Outback while I skied all day.
In the end, the repair job seemed solid when I hand-flexed it, but to be extra safe, I drilled for Griffon demos with new holes safely far away from the damaged area of the mounting zone. The FKS heel pattern is so far forward that often there's no hole conflict with the heels of many other binding models.
