I have no idea how that copper magnet thing works, but I find this equally confusing.
As the magent falls, it induces an electric current in the walls of the copper tube. The magnetic field created by the current is the same polarity as the magnet itself, so opposes the downward movement of the magnet to slow it down from normal free-fall speed.
The video? The video equivelent of a ragtop and a new trophy wife late-mid-life crisis.
