Wanna get together this weekend hatch, depending on conditions?
Starting to feel like a dud. Nothing happening in Vail/Avon right now.
It just dumped 4" in the last 1.5 hours in Summit. The roads are disasters as they weren't keeping up with them overnight and now the wind is making huge drifts.
I70 closed EB at VP and Silverthorne. Come on gapers and front rangers! You can close WB too!
Ok, now the storm is here. Looks like 6" in 2 hours on the blue sky stake. And coming down hard.
I can confirm - two feet of snow at Vail now.
hahaha, I can't believe they actually went with reporting 3"!
Beav cam shows 12" since 5am.
Everyone goes to KEYSTONE!!! haha
Berthoud Pass seems to be fine !

^^^^Just saw that in the Denver Post. Good thing that slack line guy was there. Whew.
I wonder what he was doing to get caught.
Its very easy for a pack buckle of any sort - hip, chest, side compression, etc - to get stuck in a chairlift's corners. They can wedge right in. It has happened to me but luckily I only had one arm through the shoulder straps and it just ripped it away from me and then fell off 20' down hill. If you're skiing with a pack you need to be very diligent about checking that the straps and buckles are clear of the chair before offloading.

This morning was insane. I'm frozen from the face shots
Anyone been touring up around St Mary's recently? Thinking this weekend might be some nice low-angle skipping off Kingston peak if it has decent coverage.
Holy shit. Slackline superhero saved the day. That guy deserves some kind of medal.
Great morning at Vail. Could've done without the snow day for eagle county schools, though. Got beat up real quick for midweek. Backcountry is looking sketch, lots of slabs broken off behind 24. Be careful out there.
Mmmm blower faceshots for breakfast
550 closed all the way from Red Mountain to Coal Bank right now. Days like today are the ones I wish I lived in Silverton... Tomorrow is going to be damn good.
Almost got taken out by a jack knifing semi on the way to the basin this morning. Holy WTF?!?!?! Missed the trailer and the edge of the road by a few feet. Just gunned it.
Eagle County has certainly gotten soft with school being called but the teachers were stoked so that's good! I skied with lil man....quite a. It of snow, especially considering it all fell in 3 hours
Classic sleeper day with 1" in the 5am report which was subsequently updated to 10" mid morning. So fun!
Anyone have any intel on the missing skiers outside Leadville? Still haven't released their names.
ABasin went off today. I'm fucking toast.
The last couple of days I have been getting soft slabs breaking about 18" down. This was before todays storm. Only on the steep convex slopes at the roll over. This is in north facing trees through cliff bands. Didn't propagate or run far but in the starting zone of a larger path could cause a problem. Also probably going be a bigger crown with this new load.
