:yourock: :cool::
Yeah, from what I was able to gather, S2 doesn’t really have much to do with the source material and seems like it was more the showrumners wanting to put their own spin on the story.
I loved the ending of S1, just that great, timeless fade-to-black and leaving any interpretation up to the viewer.
Sadly, knowing there was a S2 kinda ruined that for me.
KLEO
I just whizzed through the 8-episode first season of this charmingly intense German series.
Nods to Tarantino and Repo Man, by way of Hitchcock.
Fantastic cast and some solid cinematography, not to mention great costumes and production design. I particularly dug the richly muted, yet saturated color palette. Nice balance of humor, action, and intrigue, too.

Tarantino, Repo man, + Hitch sound compelling.
Can’t recall if it’s been mentioned but I saw some talk of a repo man reboot. Not sure how I feel about that. Seems impossible to capture the setting and vibe of the original
Yep, there are rumblings of Repo Man 2 (apparently there was a quasi sequel called Repo Girl in 2009 as well as a 2008 graphic novel based on an initial, unfinished script for a proper sequel).

THE TOURIST
I really dug Season 1 and loved the ambiguous ending as that is the type of thought provoking and discussion evoking conclusion I think is all too often missing from many series and films these days.
I turned off S2 after less than 5 minutes because it just seemed pointless. The ending to S1 was just so fantastic (the callbacks through the first 6 episodes were amazingly well done: BURRITO!!!).
Pity they felt compelled to do a second season, which I have decided not to watch (I had similar reactions to both The End Of The F***ing World and Happy!, two other recent series that had solid first seasons, both with great endings and no real reason to stretch their stories further).
So, yeah, S1 is pretty damn bueno and highly recommended.

Spaceman was unique and enjoyable.
Adam Sandler has become a really good actor.
THE GENTLEMEN
Gotta admit that I’m a bit of a Guy Ritchie fanboy, so I loved this 8-episode series loosely based on his 2019 film of the same name (which I also loved).
The series is teeming with luscious dialogue, a tightly woven plot, and a fantastic cast.
Ritchie is at his best and deep in his element when mining the shady depths of the British underworld, deftly injecting the right amount of snarky humor to counter balance the ultra-violence.
If you dig his other endeavors, specifically his numerous crime films, then this should be right in your wheelhouse.

S2 is a different beast. Kinda random, at first, but by the end it seems like S1 was setting it up all along.
S1 is excellent on its own. But S2 takes the characters deeper into their (his) past. Kinda back-story-esque, but in the future. Also a bit more campy.
Worth a watch, imo. I should point out that some major plot points are completely abandoned and/or unexplained. But then I like ambiguity.
Wife and I finished watching Forst last week.
We watched the whole thing, bu I can't say if we enjoyed it or not. It felt like a little bit Se7en and a little bit Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but I'm sure something got lost in translation from Polish to English.
Thirded on The Gentlemen...and I was skeptical.

Scrolled back a bit and didn't see it, but I'm halfway through Tokyo Vice on Max. It's pretty compelling. Great storyline, cinematography, set design, acting, etc. Highly recommend.

Agree; I'm actually swinging towards the second season is better than the first for its plot/sub-plot development. And I'm also starting to sympathize with Jake a bit.
Looking forward to 3 Body Problem.
Never read the book.
I read the books and the trailer has me confused, hope they don’t fuck this up
My partner and I loved this. Maybe its due to growing up in Australia and craving some of that nostalgic feels that this provides but thought it was very creative, though far fetched at times.

Happy to report that 3 Body Problem is excellent, follows the book really well and they nailed the characters, Da Shi and Wade are just how I pictured them. Hoping they follow up with the Dark Forest and Death’s End
Have to admit, couldn't finish the first book ....... but like the show a lot! Seems like subsequent seasons are mandatory??
Definitely have to go back and start reading again.
The show can be quite flat, imho.
Something really interesting happens every once in a while but then they go back for yet another 10 mopey minutes with pancreatic cancer guy at the England's crappiest beach house. The show just can't keep up any momentum. Cool ideas but then it's just depressing people talking way too damn much.
Can anyone explain to me why the world's resistance is led by just one old cranky guy, free from any seeming chain of command? Is he the only person who isnt too depressed to fight back? Well thank god for the old fart because if the defense of the world was in the hands of these millennial crybabies, we'd be fucked. Where are the world's militaries? Seems like they'd want a piece of the action.
Why is the world's investigatory apparatus limited to just one chain smoking slob? Why was it necessary that we devote so much time to knowing he's a shitty parent?
How is it that these sophon super computers super snoopers can be on earth for months and not figure out humans are lying shitbags? They have to hear some needle dick reading the Three Little Pigs to figure this out? That's just awful writing, imho.
Still, I give it credit for being the first Chinese scifi I've ever seen that isn't knee slapper cornball shit with incredibly cheap CGI. Its definitely got its interesting moments and some cool ideas.
Damn neckdeep. Just watched the first episode based on some of the hype here. Thought the story had some potential, and seeing GOT actors I enjoyed tickled the nostalgia/familiarity nerve.
Will temper my expectations.
I’ve enjoyed the first episode and a half…
Halfway in to 3 Body Problem and it's the shit! 100% my type of sci-fi show.
I mean the Panama Canal scene alone is worth the watch, they spent some serious coin on this show. Really looking forward to the next season.
Seinfeld's latest movie Unfrosted looks like it might be funny. I didn't like his TV show, but I LOL'd during the preview.
Had Seinfeld done anything decent since the show. Coffee talk is super interesting but Bee Movie was awful. Has he had any real hits in the last 25 yrs? I think Bobcat might have been right about him calling him Larry David’s lucky friend!
Ok, TBP canal scene…
I can’t understand why they would take that approach if they were trying to find something on the boat.
I don’t remember if they said anything about what it was they were expecting to find or how big it would be, but that seems like a terrible way to go about retrieving anything intact. Did I miss some explanation?
To the best of my knowledge, no rational was stated, but .......
Given the diameter of the nano-fiber and the spacing between wires, at least 90% of the ship was not cut.
Yeah, I pulled the 90% out of my ass, but still. So presumably a gamble they felt they had to take, given the lack of any other options?
The also didn't explain exactly how you handle such a dangerous fiber weapon, but I'm more than willing to coast along in ignorant bliss.
Up to a point, of course.
Saw that he Chinese TV adaption "Three-Body" is on Prime.
Wife and I watched the miniseries (eight parts) Fool Me Once, an adaptation of a Harlan Coben book. It wasn't great, but I thought the pacing was good. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested. Michelle Keegan plays the main character, Maya, and it's almost worth it to see her. Just a remarkably beautiful woman.
