Fx for Portland has temp at 100F at 9 PM tonight, 90 at midnight [emoji15]
Coast is forecast in the high 60’s tomorrow. Best day trip ever.
Looks like MEX is getting close to being a 6 pack

Thx K2…commented
Part of me feels like they should work on line management at the bottom rather than throwing a 6x in there. It would be nice if this took you to the top of upper elevator instead of the current location as well.
Or, they could just run Stadium more
Last seasons "covid" mazes were the best I've seen there, (or at least since 1989/90, the last year I worked there).
A proper maze host that keeps the flow moving efficiently is highly important too, thx dancing Karen.
The last out of state place that had mazes dialed in I was at, was Blackcomb, they easily self regulated to one lane without the Euro free for all.
Depending on your definition of "close." [I can't imagine it actually happening in the next year or three. Perhaps in the next five, I dunno...]
And running stadium more? For what?
It might move them out of the base area, but then they swamp Star and you have a sea of people down there. (And then they have to go Aux power on star and load every other chair and what should be a 10m wait at Star turns into 75m+. And they don't put up any signs (or patrollers or safety hosts) to warn people that Star is running at 50% capacity and it just continues to get worse and worse.)
Don't get me wrong, I love MHM, as a place to ski. But it starts to seem like management loses the will to care once they have your money.
This would be quite cool. It could open up more of heather terrain, more often, too - though that upper section is more wind exposed, so MHX would probably be down a lot more.Quote:

IMO, rather than putting in a 6x for MHX, how about a rope tow out of the Heather run-out, and something better than the 2x out of Heather.
(The rope tow, especially, would be cheap and easy, and peanuts in terms of cost, compared to upgrading MHX.)
And +1000 on Karen - she was simply awesome. Good attitude. Cared about her job. Attentive. Non-surly. (Man, there was at least one green jacket this last year that was a surly jerk, and incompetent at running the maze. And got an even worse attitude when people pointed out how he was running the maze inconsistently. It's a lot easier to accept the rude guy who's a genius. But being a jerk AND being incompetent is a pretty rough pill to swallow.)
75 minutes on SS? I've never seen a line more than 30-35minutes (unless you go back to the 1980's when the main lot filled and the hoards went to HRM, we timed the line, averaged 45 minutes with 12 double lanes). That would have to be the perfect storm to come close to 50-60m, upper mountain closed, powder weekend...Even when the Heather line backs up to the runout it's only 30ish minutes
Stadium also gets you to HRM. When Cascade and Vista are down, Stadium should always run.
Yeah, should'a, would'a, could'a...
I've had it happen at least a few different days.
One time, as I mentioned, they were on aux power, and were only loading 50% of the chairs - never got a straight answer why - I've seen it on aux power lots, and I've never seen them limit load like that. The sea of people was nuts. (And they just didn't do a thing, letting more and more people flood Star.)
While not as long, wind-stand-by's and reduced wire speed happen pretty often the last few years, IME. If it's more than a transient thing, it gets bad quick.
And yeah, pow days on weekends. (Or just weekends in general.)
I dunno, perhaps I'm just unlucky.
I'm not saying 75m+ loads are common, but long loads down there are not rare, and there's absolutely nothing to do, once it goes to crap, other than dumping into PR (if you're not all the way to the bottom) and climbing out the run-out; and chances are, you'll run into the same sea of bodies at the bottom of HRM.

Opening day of CCX? First trip was 57 min wait for me.
Thought I'd give it 45 min to let the mob clear...
We're good.

Just a little haze here but I can't see much to the north
Ben is reporting ash fall at his house
Looking forward. These extreme anomalies, blocking highs are created by Rossby waves within the Jetstream. Next Winter the La Nina returns..
I'm glad I never got stuck in that mess. I'd shoulder my skis and hike to Jacks Woods and ski the run-out before waiting more than 40-45 minutes in line.
On full mazes on weekends it feels like 20-25 minutes in line, but after timing it, it was only about 12-15 minutes
I've heard it's a womens personality to change their mind. But you should check with mrs. tbs to confirm.
Found this gem. It's only dated 2-27, I think it was 1984
k2skier skis in jeans too, rockin' the aviators porn stash like a rock
Trivia, what ski area is this?
This is the only skis and boots that I still don't have in my possession
I rotated both ways in the file and the fucker still posts sideways...
