Arcylon zone is not gtg. I ventured up there this morning. Sloppy and greasy in many spots. Some trenching and destruction on lips and berms. There are some spots you can sesh, but bring a shovel and leave it better than when you arrived.
Bob's basin is running great. It will be tacky for the next 32 mins and then be loose and blown out the rest of the year.

yep done a lot of work up there tuning jumps the last few years with one of the OG builders...was a shame Arcylon went almost 4 years with no maintenance...jumps were fading away.... Now is the time to get up there and ride/ tune jumps while theres moisture....any lips, landings, berms that are south facing are already dry and crusty. Greasy spots will buff out. Arcylon zone needs people up there NOW riding AND tuning. ....totally agree if you know what yer doing bring a shovel and leave it better.Quote:

I’ve got a buddy coming to visit and ride for five days this coming weekend, and want to show him what the Wasatch dirt is all about.
He’s a pretty good enduro rider, prioritizes the downhill riding experience. Not looking to go for an XC ride but willing to pedal for hours if the descent is worth the slog.
Where should I take him? So far I’m thinking shuttle laps on Bountiful B and Maple Hollow, maybe Parrish creek if the snow melts enough, Bobsled and I-Street…
What other ripping descents should be ready to rip by next weekend? We’re willing to drive a ways if it means better riding.
The foothills trails around downtown are already moondust. Hopefully we get some rain this week. All the Corner Canyon/Alpine trails are open and the dirt there retains moisture a bit better. Higher elevations are rapidly melting by the day so good to keep a close eye on conditions.Quote:

Have you explored the Richfield area things so far? Curious as to status of Red Canyon and GW-Oak Ridge. Red seems like its free of snow via SentinelHub, but Oak looks real questionable.Quote:

Nope, I was on my emtb and rode up the dirt road to the top and boondocked it along a grassy ridge to the top of the punisher. Definitely not an approach I would do without a motor though.Quote:

FYI, organizing a dig day for Arcylon zone this week and it looks like *tomorrow* Wednesday will be the day after work. from around 4:30-8:30. Bring a flat shovel and rake if interested....cleaning up berms, landings, lips and tamping etc. ....and hopefully ride sesh a few things after. Rain or shine.

Red Canyon was $$$$ last weekend (5/21/23).
Enduro team is doing trail work in Lake Mtns, building a climbing trail to top of Overwatch area, consistent 7% climb instead of that horrible 4WD road.

Are there any trails with consistent shade good to go within 45 mins of SLC? Hoping to take a friend riding who has a skin condition and doesn't do well in the Utah sun. Figure its unlikely since the shade would preserve the snow but thought I'd ask..
Now that the leaves are out Corner Canyon in the afternoon starting from the Coyote Hollow TH is probably your best option.

Each are 45min-1hr, so option to do both if you wanted a little longer of a ride.
Also, for the chunder-heads, rode W Grandeur Ridge for the second time (first in 9-10 years) this weekend. Rad option as we wait the next few months for the alpine to melt out. Drops 3200+ft in 2.1mi, and is legit gnar the whole way. If that sounds appealing, i'd get it this or next week while there is a little moisture in the trail surface. Decomposed granite and no shade=loose AF once we get into summer weather.
