For a holiday weekend Killington hasn't been THAT bad, staying on the chairs near the top usually will keep you out of lift linesAttachment 358429

"Afro American Federal holiday celebrated in the whitest possible way".
omg.. i was a bit nervous just passing folks huffing and puffing on the XC trails
Stratton was some kinda of a hot mess. I took one run off the lift to mid mtn & then hiked to the summit a couple times. When I got up top, there were 4’ drifts & whales, nothing groomed or ready. Was western ish....
In fact when ursa finally opened, patrol was discouraging certain ppl in line from going up by saying “unless you are skilled w extreme weather & terrain, go down now...”
Bodies all over after the opened the top.
10 miles and 5600’ of deep, supportive snow out in the backcountry today.

glad to see cold temps and snow showers through the week.

Equal sentiment from my newly constructed back deck at shop....
edit to add I just saw MNIAW ski past on the live stream, #yaynewlow
I skied chargers exclusively for about 5 years, just got a pair of harvest skis w/scaled bottom. Just as much grip & glide but a little damper.
