Police Behaving Badly

Chicago cops gun down a black kid for a stolen car worth $15k.

- at least a half dozen patrol units involved
- shoot their own cruiser
- empty clip at the fleeing car
- claim the kid shot at them
- shoot him in the back
- unarmed

5 shots at the kid after he fled the car unarmed were from a cop that thought perps were shooting at him. It was the other police unit violating policy and shooting in the direction of officer B that led him to believe perp was armed. But even then, he shot the fucking unarmed kid in the back up to 5x.

I don't know, this looks like O'neil really brought this upon himself. Shooting at a fleeing car may not be the smartest thing to do but looking at the video I can see getting caught in the heat of this moment. Unless I see something different, I'm with the cops on this one.

I like the part at 1:40 where the black cop jumps the gate while the fat out of shape white cop can't. Also the "gimme 5" at 4:32.
And all the shooting in a residential neighborhood over a stolen car.
Heat of the moment? Aren't cops supposed to be trained to not get caught up in the heat of the moment.
(And if that is how cops, how ever badly trained, deal with an emergency, can you imagine the shitshows when all those good guys with guns trying to take out the bad guy with the gun start taking out each other?)
I don't see how you can possibly say the cops were justified based on this video, unless you believe in street justice and the death sentence for theft. Even the police superintendent thinks the cops done wrong. But I guess you know more than him.

The heat of the moment I was referring to is from 1:14 to 1:19 in the video. I thought thats when the kid got shot up. I didnt realize that he was shot up during the foot chase, hence my comment about changes things up.

I got away with running over a parking lot barricade with my truck because the hospital chaplain's Ford Falcon was stalled in the entrance. (The chaplain was on his way to give last rites to the guy I was coming to operate on. GSW to the iliac artery and vein. The last rites turned out not to be necessary. The chaplain got me out of trouble.)
My Dad was an internist. He had a caduceus on his license plate that was supposed to keep him from getting tickets. I have no idea if it worked. My kid gave me an AF Dad window sticker for my car--he thought that might save me a ticket; I haven't gotten one since but I doubt it's the sticker--more the fact that I drive like the old man I am.
Michael DeBakey comes to work in the new Ferrari some sheik gave him, without his parking sticker which was on his old car. The attendant at the doctor's lot refuses to raise the bar and let him in. DeBakey says "Boy, do you know who ah am?" Parking lot guy says "I don't care if you're Denton Fucking Cooley, your aren't getting in." DeBakey rams through the gate. (DeBakey and Cooley hated each other. Didn't speak despite the fact they worked in the same OR.)
The arm at the entrance to my hospital's doctors' parking lot got broken regularly. People also had their cars sideswiped with no note left.
These are the people whose hands you put your life in.

Primacy over law and accountability breeds discord, no matter the line of business. Sure, doctors do heroic things. They get paid accordingly.

Point here is to illustrate that evasion does not equate to trying to kill a cop. Also doesn't warrant deadly force.

Love how the cops always ask each other if they are alright after arresting a 120 pound school teacher or as a young man lays dying in handcuffs. Pussies.
