Today was fucking good!
Tomorrow could be challenging.
Hopefully we transition quickly.
My sister is in Denver and is contemplating going with my wife on a grrls trip to Aspen this weekend - anyone still have discount vouchers that she might be able to beg/borrow/steal?
Just sent you one via PM
I'm parked in the intercept lot.
3 days to burn and fingers crossed.
:D
Anybody else have any vouchers available? She is not averse to spending the day shopping in Aspen, but she would rather ski. :D

let me know if you ended up with enough vouchers...

Yesterday I found a few pockets on Aspen, so much was wind hammered. Looks like the bowl would be pretty dope this am. I'm trying to get work done today though.

Yeah, my wife was not super psyched on how Ajax skied yesterday morning but it sounds like Highlands skied well.
Low angle skied well at Snowmass yesterday. They rolled the DH course, on Aspen today.
I had fun on both.
Yesterday was fun at Snowmass.
Took today off, on for the next two.
Highlands?
Highlands was tits today and yesterday, too.
Some flat light yesterday as the day progressed.
Bowl was killer this afternoon. Got 2 laps in at the very end of the day and it was ~10” of completely untracked snow and EMPTY. Like maybe the emptiest I’ve ever seen it - one other person at the top both times and we had a cat to ourselves. It’ll be great again tomorrow

I don’t know about completely untracked but it was good

We had 2 runs in the G’s with untouched snow until the bottom confluence. Maybe we got lucky

Sounds excellent; I’ll be up there this afternoon and will hopefully have time for a quick Bowl lap. Buttermilk was heinous yesterday; so so wet. My Kincos soaked through after the second run. Lapping Jacob’s ladder with [emoji637][emoji637]y/o boys…

Highlands Bowl delivered.
Hike was conga-line packed and hot even dressed lightly.
But, Be One was steep (duh) and knee deep.
PS I even saw a guy with a full face helmet hiking up.
PPS Years ago I saw (and got passed by) a young man with his skis and poles in Texas Suitcase configuration.
Subscribing.
I’m in Snowmass for the week. Forecast looks a bit grim until Friday but hoping for surprises, and even if not I’ll be spending a good bit of it with my beginner/intermediate wife cruising around.
Also, my first time in CO, somehow.
It's not going to snow, but I'd hardly call the skiing/weather, grim.
These conditions are much better
for your less accomplished partner.
Get the grooming report and get out early.
If you want a 1/2 price lesson voucher, hit me up?
Should have some nice spring conditions this week. Did a couple bowl laps this morning and there still some good soft chop in the G’s. Skied better than I was expecting

I'm out, but if you PM me your phone number, I'll get someone to send you one.
Aspen should be going off this afternoon!
No you’re right. I was looking at something that made it seem like it was going to be a cloudy, low 30’s/upper 20’s week, and that’s not accurate at all. Most of that, but tons of sun.
Today was beautiful! Looking forward to exploring more. Lots of groomer zooming and bumping around today.
^^ still talking my wife into trying a lesson. I signed up for one and got a great tour of the mountain and the cirque area. He even gave me a tip or two.
Thanks!!
She should take a lesson, they do help. Even the best skier on the mountain, can use a tip or two, every once in a while.
I'll be skiing Aspen tomorrow with my ski bud and Snowmass Thursday, with the wife. There’s a big party at the bottom of Two Creeks.
We'll see what this storm brings Thursday night.
Wife and I had a very nice dinner at Steakhouse 316 for our 36th anniversary!
Does anyone know if there is a shop in the RFV that has the equipment and knowhow to do an atomic professional foam injected liner, and that will do the foam work for someone that did not buy the liner or boot there?
I'm sure the Boot Whisperer, out at Highlands, could do anything involving ski boots.
Same with Jack Rafferty or Steve Centofanti.
Whether they choose too, is up for them to decide.
I bought some first gen Mimic Pros from a RFV mag and had them done a month ago with Jim at Boottech. Very pleased. I also talked to Steve and Surefoot. Everyone said they “would” do it but Jim was by far the most confident and ready as he has the foam kits on hand. Steve would have to order the kit and was game, but has only done Atomic foam a couple times. The surefoot guy would Jerry-rig it with a Head kit and hope for the best…
Jim Lindsey is a ski boot Jedi Master. Him and Cindy are also incredibly nice and down to earth.
Spring pass “sale” is live for the exclusive low price of $3k! I hope this year there’s an option to leave a tip for the CEO at checkout
Sunlight news and event: Segundo send-off is happening this Friday. Come say goodbye to Colorados oldest lift. Originally built for Aspen Mountain in 1954, she moved to Sunlight in 1973. So many memories. She will be running til 630pm. Sure to be a good time. Let me know if you want to meet up a ski a lap or two on the west side.
I think it's another SkiCo lift, Coney Glade HSQ maybe?
Gent's went to Montana.
Gondi's open till 6 tonight.
Bell 4-6.
I don't think many will be out in the rain.
Already soft in spots at 9:30.
It’s being replaced with Lenaway from A basin.
