The Nuggets played back to back road games this weekend. Nikola Jokic scored a total of 104 points on 58/50/77 shooting, grabbed 30 boards, dished 18 assists... and the Nuggets managed to lose the first of those games to the Wizards.
They also lost to the Cavs on Thursday ;)
I just bought tickets for my son and me to the OKC-Houston Cup semifinal game tomorrow. Two tickets for not great but not terrible seats for $100 with fees. I suspect the NBA is not super excited about the matchups this year... I'm excited to go though. I've been a fan on and off for years, but never been to a game and I get to take my son. I think the OKC-Houston game has the potential to be a better game, but I would kind of liked to have seen Giannis in person. We had more plans for early in the day though, so the late game worked better.
I've soured a lot on Giannis. I didn't like his antics in the game against Boston. And watching him play lately it seems like his whole method in the paint is based on traveling and hoping they don't notice. It's the NBA and everyone travels. But he seems like he's at a whole other level of either sloppy or intentional traveling. The shine is fading in my book.
Celts going after ben simmons??? if that fukk gets a chip i'm gonna lose it.
One of the reasons I wanted to see Giannis is that my son knows/likes him, partially because he has a pair of his shoes, which I bought him because they were the only full velcro models in his size at the Nike clearance outlet.
He may know SGA. We've watched one or two Thunder games this year. He knows the team. I don't think he knows anyone on Houston.
Jokic is the player I really want to see in person some day. If Denver had made the tournament, we'd have been going for sure and I'd have ponied up for better tickets.
Pretty sure the Celtics can’t sign Simmons under the new collective bargaining agreement if he is cut due to his salary. He would make for a nice center on the team though.
^^^I don't know about toxic...he just can't play offense.
It was a toxic situation at the end of his philly run.
He is good if not great at stealing money.
Agree I like the Celtics lineup a lot too, but I would not turn away a talent like that.
Toxic? I dunno, he sure crawled inside his own head in terms of shooting the ball. Embiid and Doc both threw him under the bus. Hard to want to come back to that. He certainly seems to have some serious back issues.
I hope we don’t fuck with the Celtics lineup just yet. Great game last night. I love watching when Jaylen Brown is “in charge” and Tatum is out, only [emoji638]nd time this year, but it’s great to see JB take control.
I wanna see this team in person too before they change anything up. Any good seats at home are so expensive. The lower section at almost any game this year is $[emoji640]-[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] per seat minimum
I would absolutely turn it away. We don't need anybody. Don't break up the band. And Payton Pritchard, my 2nd favorite Celtic after D White, is perfectly capable of getting deep in his own head. Fortunately he has managed to really evolve and man does he hustle! Simmons can go elsewhere.
So my new NBA pet peeve that is currently in overdrive is reading about trade rumors that literally can’t fucking happen. It’s impossible and not allowed under the new CBA so I’m fairly certain it’s bullshit.
It’s all clickbait, yet I find myself reading it all, heh. Jimmy Butler is going to the Xxxxxx!!!!
My feed is mostly, “The Pistons could be involved in a three team trade!”
SGA is impressive in person. Took the family to a nuggets/okc game last year and nugs were flat but he dropped 40 something and it was effortless. The joker is worth the price of admission tho.
Doing the same this year with the cavs coming to town. I can’t wait to tell my kids
Also, for the Warriors to get Butler it’s logically impossible without involving [emoji637] or [emoji638] other teams to make the cap math work. So anything you see that suggests a straight up trade is pure nonsense.Quote:

Agreed. Even if possible, Simmons seems super high risk with low reward. Not worth it for a Celtics team that are deep and favorites already.

As I said it is not possible, but the floated rumor alluded to earlier was Brooklyn was looking to cut him and the Celtics were favorites to sign him for the minimum. Again not possible, but adding a player of that potential I think is a no brainer. I don’t think he’s that big of a head case and a clear understanding of his role would be established prior to signing.
Yeah my pet peeve post was just in general, not aimed at you.
I never knew putting a net on was so time consuming...
The Warriors vs Wolves game has been delayed over 20 minutes because a net wasn't strung right, and now they're struggling to install a new one and the poor facilities guys are getting roasted by everyone.
Kangz fire Mike Brown. They gave him a contract extension in June.
Vivek has been there [emoji637][emoji638] years and will now be looking for his [emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]]th coach. It’s almost like he’s the problem…Quote:

I don’t think the Kings have the makeup to be a contender - they desperately need another good forward, for one - but Brown has made some decisions that are definitely questionable.
Keon Ellis has been playing at a pretty high level, and played well late last year too, but he has not been seeing the minutes or consistent opportunity to play that his performance would suggest.
And then last weekend was back-to-back games. First game Brown played his four best players 36-38 minutes. Then the second game he only used three players off the bench the whole game. And Ellis wasn’t one of those three. That lead to their worst loss of the season.
