Soft Snow Gymkhana - The Heritage Lab FR110

Few more half days on mine, on a bum knee. These things are pretty good as a recovery ski, unless you encounter ice chunks. Super easy to maneuver without putting undue pressure on the body.

Last few days have been on groomers. In the soft, they carve well for what they are. Less rebound than a cambered ski, but fun.

But what’s reaaaaally fun is rally-car’ing around on groomers. High speed slarves are the tits. I swear I was passing people straight-lining while I was sideways. So much fun.

While these are pretty heavy, I found they still like to pop over snow piles rather than plow through them. I like that in a ski.

Thx Pretzel....doing that says "enroute to Canada". They're coming. I'm good as the snow is not great in Nelson. Really need 'em for my Powder Hwy trip in Feb so all good.

Dang man, I am really sorry. The service estimated 4-5 day delivery! I guess there was more delay from the holidays than I guessed.

Been hesitant to post further reviews as the snow has for the most part been absolute shit and I was having some boot problems earlier in the season.

I did manage to ski 10 turns of actual pow off the Ridge at Bridger last week. Stoked. I am still so in love with my FL113, but see these 110s as the ideal ski for slightly less snow or only a touch of fresh up high and soft/leftover more playful snow down lower. Has taken some time to unlock these more but the quick response pop on these is legit. Kinda like mountain biking with the right suspension setup in that you can make a split second choice to pull for a gap across moguls/rollers you didn't see before. Pretend you know what you are doing like Candide lol.

On firmer snow you can lay em over and set tracks and the ability to pop out of the exit of each turn is really fucking fun. I am going to force myself to take em out on a 3-6" day when I would normally go straight to my 113s.

They arrived today. I just had a quick look at them as I'm just heading up to Whistler to ski shit snow! FR110s are impressive looking and feeling. I'll post rocker pics of the "182cm" FR 110s against my 184cm Hojis after I mount them next week.

I'm going +0.5cm per your recommendation. The 180/182 FR 110 says +84.25 from tail for -6cm so I'm going +84.75 cm for -5.5 cm. Dumb question…I'm going +84.75 cm from the tail from the straight pull (eg the FR110 is ~180.5cm straight pull)? Not going +84.75 cm measuring along the total base material (~182cm). The "math" tells me it's measured from the straight pull length but figure I'd ask

go off the straight tape measurements, both for length and then distance from tail as well. Thanks for double checking!

R110s look fun...mounted my FR110s just a couple days ago, having a bit of fomo already.

I very much don't need yet another pair of skis right now, but those R110's look sick.

That flatness underfoot looks a lot more like the Sickle, I'm still have yet to mount my FR110s and want to stick with them... but am very R110 curious.

Edit: Also the ski I would venture to guess might benefit from the R110 profile is the BC110. Any chance that is coming to the BC110 Marshal?

Marshal has been talking about the R110 for over a year. Safe to say it should be dialed!

I honestly think the FR110 will be more like a sickle (just way better in soft snow) than the R110, which is more like an Astar/HALS Ren had a baby w/ an MF108.

The BC110 is quite a bit lower than the FR110! If I ever did a different profile it would be the more progressive FR profile, but I don't really see that any time soon

Gotcha on the BC110, I went back and looked at your site after posting and noticed the similar profile. The BC110 looks so tasty, if only I was skiing yet...

HALS REN was my first favorite pow ski and I loved my MFree 108s that I used last year before I sold em. Damn now you're making me think about buying another 110 underfoot ski? lol

But the FL113 will take more speed to come alive and is more directional where the R110 will be quicker to pivot and more surfy. The FR110 will be another full step-change more surfy and pivoty than the R110 and will do even better in wet pow.

But all are going to be super smooth, and nicely responsive

So do the R110’s fit in with the race room R87/99/120? Is there metal?

Need something for 'tweener days... those days here in JP that aren't dedicated forests or groomers, but dabbling in both. And can also serve Hakuba side country. Was looking for something with this rocker profile and when you said Ren & Mfree 108 made a baby, I kind of freaked out a little bit. I haven't been able to decide between FL113 and FR110.

There were a few other skis on my list, but this finishes my thinking.

I'll work on it. I wasn't prepared to buy skis right now.

I have been half paying attention and I’m trying to pull together what the hell is going on with the R110. I didn’t pull the trigger on FR110 earlier because I bought a bunch of other stuff like a car and a wife and then Christmas and honestly the graphics didn’t really do it for me for an already bloated quiver spot, but I’m paying attention again.

What’s the timeline on those guys? Dimensions/specs? Take my money.

In the "R" column on the Mount Distance Table on the FR110 page, there is a 180cm and 193cm size... will the 193 R110 be available in Fall 2024?

110 @ -6. Looks kinda weird to be more towards the front than the others. Maybe not.

That sounds awesome and more usable than the fl skis with the lack of open terrain here. Justification plans starting. My ski quiver is currently all black and that needs to change so hopefully they stay colorful.

How are peeps finding the durability on these skis? Skiing Bridger bowl right now is a commitment to hitting rocks if you want to have fun. So I keep telling myself I’m gonna keep them on the shelf until we get a 30 inch base. But I’m itching to start skiing them and realistically I’m still gonna hit a ton of rocks when we get to 30 inches. Should I just become the durability tester??? Or will patience pay off for this old grasshopper?

They are put together as well as anything
And if you crunch a ski badly, I’ll take good care of you

Durability is the best I've ever seen, with the FR builds (not enough days on the C builds to really comment). I know I'm biased as fuuck, but these are up there with Igneous skis, which is about the highest standard I know.

I hit a few rocks at Snowbird in early December, and skis held up just fine. Gummy stone took off the burrs, bases merely had some surface scratches not even worth filling.

But, didn’t bring them to Tahoe this weekend…
