my mom was Dewey Bunnell's (America) cleaning lady when we moved to Marin county and she was studying to get her license to sell insurance. He hooked me up with every warner brothers record i wanted because they recorded on that label. cool guy.

game day decision. cornell was at the calvin. i had a half a joint in my pocket in a baggie. they searched me, asked me to empty my pocket and took it. i could have had a gun in my back pocket but they didnt get that far. idiots. great security.
we are going to txr next year too.
Caught Pearl Jam in Oakland this week. 15th PJ show, 37 songs deep and 3.5 hours long. Tribute to Lou Reed. Insanely fun.
Jeff Ament rocking the Warriors Jersey (at Oracle Arena) that someone tossed on stage.

Saw Pretty Lights with the live band in Reno last Wednesday and it was phenomenal. 2.5 hour set, great jams, super fun. They played a 15-20 minute jam on Bob Marley's Exodus that was just mindblowing, continued to build the whole time and just left me awestruck.
Then I saw them on Saturday night in SF and everything they played was better than that. Easily the greatest live performance I have ever witnessed. It was a completely different band. The show was broadcast on Pay-Per-View and they took that shit seriously. They jammed harder and longer on everything than they did in Reno, and played a significantly different setlist. I was blown away from start to finish. They played for three hours and it was seemingly endless while flying by at the same time. Had to be one of the best sets they've played on tour and I would say it rivals the best nights any jam band has had, Phish, Dead, STS9, String Cheese, you name it. These guys were on fucking fire. I can't wait to get the PPV downloaded and watch it again. Absolutely astonishing.
Shpongle Live at Red Rocks on May 10 with pre-party in Boulder the night before with Simon, Raja, and guests. Those of you who know about Shpongle realize how big of a deal this is. Only the fourth ever US appearance of the full band. This happens to fall on my birthday weekend so I'm not sure I could be any more excited. Gonna be heading out there with a group of ~10 people. Very much excite.

^shpongle would be freaking awesome. So jealous.
Recently saw Lucero. Great show.

Ahhhh.... hence the fancy NYC hotel room?! Very jealous.
Just saw Leon Russell and Hot Tuna the other night in Boston at the Wilbur. Jorma, Jack and Barry were awesome. Super sharp. Leon was a little fuzzy...
Love the Wilbur and section B... Drink service all show and you're almost on stage.
I went Monday and Friday and had to painfully sell my ticket for Thursday (4th row no less...grrrr.) I hope he resurrects the second set of Crazy Horse shows that got cancelled in the US.
Saw Clutch live for the 1st time last night... speechless.
Clutch is pretty awesome, they have been longtime locals in my area. Have not had the opportunity to see them. I have hard time justifying going to concerts anymore.
But I still love to watch live music, been collecting live show DVDs of my favorite bands. Just watched a 1979 Supertramp in Paris and now watching YES with full orchestra backing from 2003. More on the way from Amazon.
caught Troy Andrews aka "Trombone Shorty" and Louisiana Avenue at the Pickle Barrel in Killington Wednesday night. Great band, good times. Young players that absolutely tear it up. Shorty tears it up on the bone and trumpet.
Saw Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt last night, fantastic acoustic set - they played 2 hours straight, bantering the whole time with the audience, playing requests.. great show, highly recommend, even if you wouldn't typically listen to that type of music.
10,000 Maniac's Saturday night. The new singer isn't Natalie, but she's dam good and plays a mean electric fiddle.
Umphrey's McGhee on Saturday night at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. Intense -- almost overpowering. I was exhausted after the show. build...Build...BUILD...bridge... repeat.

Saw Greensky Bluegrass the other night. I was pretty impressed. Yonder still has them beat on songwriting but these guys are better at high level jamming.
May have to catch Umphrey's when they come through here Tipp. They sound fun.

Just bought my Widespread tickets for Reno on March 30th. Who's gonna be there? Might take a few laps in the Tahoe region on March 31st(not sure where yet, have to figure out where I get a discount with my Bird pass).

Really good show, great venue.
I saw them in St. Charles, IL, they play tonight in IA.
They have about 10-15 more shows ending in Vegas.
They were really good!
Saw 3 shows in the last 4 days... Tool, Umphrey's McGee, and Allman Brothers. Wow.
Just wow.
And the clocks move ahead... Nicely done.

Nice vantage point... I was watching that corner now and again. Looked like a good time over there for sure. I would love to do it again. Do you know how much the set list changes up from show to show, or is it mostly set?
^^ Goin again tomorrow...
So my friend says, you gotta go see this Umphreys McGee your gonna dig em. Some of the studio stuff fell short for me (please recommend a good studio album ??). Saw them tonight in SLC. Sweet mother were they good! Incredible musicianship. Sonical goodness. Super tight band, like nofx but jam band style.... Best $20 concert ever!!! :yourock:

I wanted to see Umphry's at the Belly Up Tuesday, but I had to leave town Monday.
Jimmy Vaughn, Stevie Rays older brother, is playing at my local club tonight. I really want to go and my wife can't. How good is this guy? Talk me into going solo.
Jimmy can play the axe and harmonica rather well.
Heading out of the house now to see the DBTs at the 930 club.
