ESPN is lowest common denominator stuff. It's what moves the dial, not what's good.
Today's sportscenter had a segment on non sports middle siblings, because it national middle child day. Riveting stuff.
Only a few more days until Fox Sports 1 goes live.
Listed to Mike and Mike this morning. They were pretty offended by the clowns yelling things at the PGA tourney. You'd think someone was burning an American flag on the field...
Sunday was unbearable with the asshats yelling Howard Stern shit. Who still listens to Stern anyway - 13 year olds?
Baba Booey!
Went to a PGA tourney once and got chewed out for walking while someone was putting 60 yards away. It was comical, but that's golf right?
The thing about yelling at golf tournaments is its just not cool or unique anymore. A couple BabaBooey shout outs over the years have been funny...in particular the OJ/Peter Jennings one but "Get in the Hole" shit was old in 2003. I don't know how its gotten worse in recent years.

We're not the only ones that are tired of espn.
Why the fuck did they hire back Keith Olberman? Why would anyone hire him, much less hire him back?
Olberman is employed again? yeesh.
Let me get this straight.... they fire Hugh Douglas because he got into an argument with Michael Smith, but they still employ Jalen Rose after he got a DUI? Yeah, makes sense.
Hugh most likely called him a "fag" or sumtin. ESPN had to act decisively or face derision for not acting sooner. Douglas would crush him like a bug.
The headline "Serena melts in Cincinnati" instead of highlighting Azerenka's win (or Isner's appearance in a Masters event final or even Nadal's win over Isner"
You'd think there are like 5 Ath-el-etes (#stephenAsmithvoice) on the planet with this fucking network.
Oh, and yet another pointless Boston-Yankees game on Sunday night. :rolleyes2

N.F.L. Pressure Said to Lead ESPN to Quit Film Project on head injuries in NFL
I cannot wait for MLB to be over for the season. Why? So the twits will stop blabbering on about A-Rod. Give it a fucking rest, already. There are some many other, better storylines at the moment; NFL, College Football, Soccer ... anything else.
ESPN is like the fucking elementary school tattletale that everyone hated... it's amazing the shit they "report" when it's not confirmed or even true.
And what's with the ".... first reported by Bob Smith." Who the fuck cares who reported it first?
ESPN may explode today from crossing the streams.
After a week or two of non stop hand-wringing, calls for blowing up the franchise, and general diaper-shitting over the Washington Redskins name they have come full circle in their ability to create non-controversy controversy this afternoon by asking if Lee Corso 'crossed the line' when he dressed up as the Seminole in making his prediction in the Clem-FSU game.
So an ESPN host dresses up in a way that ESPN has been saying makes people cry for the two weeks that they've been 'on' the story and thus gives ESPN a topic to beat into the ground all Monday?
Facepalm.
Lead story on espn: "Ravens Rice knocked fiancé out"
With everything else that happened today in Olympics and college hoops you lead with domestic violence involving an ath-el-lete (#stephenasmith) that won't play a meaningful game for seven months?
Joey Brackets, Dickie V, Jay Bilass, bubble watch, first 4 in, last 4 out, next 4 in, next 4 out...FUCKYOUFUCKYOUFUCKYOU
^^^
That's at least sports related. It may not seem like it, but that in itself is a big step forward.
Say what you want, but the 30 for 30 franchise totally validates ESPN in my mind, it's just amazingly good. This episode about the birth of the Big East and the birth of ESPN is radical. You should watch it.
Any way you look at it, Patrick, Mullin, Easy Ed and the Pearl were fucking awesome. Such an incredible era.
Pinckney is a cool mofo to this day. Hated that dude but I love him.
I'm watching the Cardinals and Red Sox spring training game right now, and they have their "fantasy picks" running along the bottom line. They listed Ryan Howard as both overvalued and undervalued. Way to be on top of things, guys.
I'm a pretty big fan of cbs sports radio which just showed up here in Anchorage.
The best part was when they had several hours of commercial free play by play coverage of the last day of the world championship sleddog race.
First off, TGR, your search function FUCKING BLOWS. page 5 of the results when I typed in the exact title of this thread.
Back on topic, I popped into the clubhouse bar today to see what happened with the Open and what do I get with my 10 minutes of espn? Non-stop coverage of fucking Tiger Woods.
Tiger is in 4th TO LAST PLACE.
I don't care if the reanimated corpse of Bobby Jones is out there. If he's in 4th to last he doesn't merit more than a bit of script on the bottom crawl. What a bunch of jock sniffers.
^^^
I'm really looking forward to them hiring Nancy Grace to report on such pressing issues.
they're both obnoxious morons but i thought for sure bayless would be the first to say something so stupid he'd have to go. repeatedly lying about things should have been enough. instead they waited for the black man to say something so stupid he'd have to go.
Nah. It's just Screamin A bein Screamin A.
I feel your pain, but the numbers are dramatic when comparing Tiger healthy to no Tiger, or even Tiger 4th to last to no Tiger. Dude sucks in the viewers like a giant sponge. A lot of people in the media are praying for his comeback and the chase to beat Jack's numbers, but that doesn't look very good right now.
I mean, Bubba Watson? Really? Even Mcllroy. Boring.
Stephen A is fired?
By the way, LeeeBron announced he's going back to 23 yesterday. ESPN was all over that shit. Sleep easy my friends.
Holy crap, I just read the whole S.A.Smith fiasco. What a fucking moron.
http://www.boston.com/entertainment/...hNK/story.html
1) I don't think Stephen understands that no matter what you say, when you follow it up with "but" you negate everything you said prior to that.
2) TMZSPN will never fire this guy - the race card would be thrown faster than you can say Booyah.
3) Facepalm.
Seems appropriate. Let's suspend a guy who tells a story about slapping his girlfriend in college. Even though they've been married for 20 years.
Way to make up for Stephen A TMZSPN.
