Kerry sex scandal. (NSR)

Yes, that's part of what's made it a big story--that and some good reporting by the Boston Globe, in particular.
Note, though, that Kerry treads very lightly on this one (partly for fear of offending Guard people, probably) and doesn't really comment on it. But the questions originated the first time Bush ran for governor ('94?).
There's also the question of whether or not his records were later altered, but I don't think anyone's been able to determine whether or not that really happened.

Oh, please. There's no way you can pretend that this wouldn't be a HUGE issue for Rove, Gillespie, etc. if it weren't their guy who had done it.
And the fact that you believe the media is 'liberal' is yet more proof of how little you know about it.

You are clearly insane. He means that the GOP rumor mill would have been working overtime to get the story out (like how they've allegedly circulated a doctored photo of Kerry and Jane Fonda, and have been circulating one of them where they happen to be in the same place, pre-Fonda's visit to Vietnam).

Bush did take steps that the Clinton didn't, but hey, maybe if Bush had been poor and smart instead of rich and dumb he'd have had to get out of the war by winning a Rhodes scholarship instead of having his daddy first get him out of harm's way and then not having the balls to finish even that limited responsibility. Um a few things about Clinton:
1. His uncle was an Ark state Senator with alot of money. Clinton had a low draft number, and had orders to report to the Army 30 days after graduating from HS. He avoided going into the army because he promised to join the ROTC at UofA while he attended collage there with a promise that he would join the Army as an officer after graduating college. Within 60 days of his graduation the draft board inquired with the ROTC commander at UofA about Billy's status, and the possibility of recieving a federal commission (there are various types of commissions. A federal is handed out by the US Senate). The ROTC commander said we never heard of him and nobody by that name ever signed up for the course. Billy got his marching orders from the Draft Board telling him that he had to report to Ft Polk for Army basic training the monday after his graduation. Sunday night with the help of his Uncle he was on a plane for England. It wasn't until 3 weeks later that he recieved his Rhodes Scholar status. His uncle pulled some strings with the Ark draft board to have his entry status dates changed to make it seem like he wasn't a draft dodger. That is why in the campaign he had 3 different indoc dates. His original draft date while he was in HS, the date he was told to report after he graduated from college, and then the date his State Senator Uncle had it changed to when Bill was in England.

Now 6 months after Billy arrived in England he went to Moscow in the Soviet Union for 5 weeks. During that time he protested about the United States involvement in the Vietnam war.

Then when he became President. Most of his direct staff gets indicted. He gets impeached. He sexually assults women. Lies about business dealings. And he got away with it all. :rolleyes:

Now Dex when I got done with my first 3 years of Active Army I signed up with the Ohio National Guard for 2 years. I had 5 months left on that Guard contract when I moved to Aspen. So I transferred to a Guard unit at Rifle. I cannot remember one damn person I served with there. Since I had just 5 months left on that contract they really couldn't put me with a platoon (I was a Sergeant), so I did odd jobs for my monthly drills. Infact for 3 of those monthly drills they had nothing for me to do and told me to go home as soon as I showed up. And I was still marked as being there and paid for that weekend.

That is the way it is. Since not many of you have ever experience the military you cannot truly say what happens in it. You may think you do, but infact you are clueless about it.

Now about his flight status his last year. Flight time is expensive, and intensive. Most often in Air Guard units if a Pilot is a short timer, and attached to a non-home unit untill discharge from service. They take their flight status away from them, and give their flight/training time to Pilots that are re-uping, or for new pilots that are permanently attached to that unit. It is termed. FHPP or Flight Hold Pending Pysical. It is used in this way to keep track of all the beans. (From my Brother in law. He is a Colonel in the USAF attached to NASA).

Now this whole thread has become one giant troll fest. Let's put it to bed. Because people on both sides of the fence are twisting and turning facts to meet their own political agenda. And it's not getting us anywhere.

So can we get back to more reasonable things like: "who will the RedSox blame this year for their downfall"
