I’ve got the 2014’s and while I’ve loved them in the soft snow (Japan), I have really struggled to get on with them on piste- they go from chattery / no edge set at lower controlled speeds to super hooky….. I’ve not really done anything about with the tune apart from running the diamond file over the tip and tailQuote:

As mentioned Praxis used to be hit or miss, but I believe they’re pretty consistent now.

I'm looking seriously at the MVP 108 as the replacement to my now deceased Big Horn 106 in 187cm. RIP.
I have the moment wildcat 108 in 184cm and I don't like it as much. At my size (5"10 180lbs), I find it too light, stiff and harsh in variabe conditions, and not as good on edge/ ice as the BH. The Big Horn had notably more plushness/ suspension, and I just felt better pushing it in a variety of conditions. The BH is a softer ski than the wildcat which I think helps it absorb hits and bumps better, while also being 150g or so heavier per ski. I think I've learned that I appreciate a ski that is a little softer at the ends but with some heft.
Specs wise, the 108 MVP looks nice and similar. My main question is the flex. Can anyone comment on how the MVPs feel flex wise compared to Moment skis?

I went from a 190 Wildcat 108 to a (stock) 188 Praxis MVP 108 (with a season on the Whitedot Director in between). Agreed with your take on the Wildcat - skis too light, is kinda harsh, and is mediocre on firm. I sold my Wildcats after not too long. I like the MVP's much, much better. I find them easier in tight spots but also considerably more composed at speed. By the numbers, they don't weigh *that* much more than the Wildcats (comparing the 190's to the 188's), but the weight is used better - they're smoother, less harsh, and less inclined to get knocked around in crud than the Wildcat. I think the grip on firm snow probably comes down to the tune as much as anything, but the MVP's feel better on firm snow mostly due to being smoother and damper.Quote:

Yes they usually do have a summer sale. I'm on flex 3+ MVPs (stock flex is 4) and they've become my daily driver 75% of the time. 188cm, veneer, mounted a hair fwd of the line. Just a great ski (for me anyway)Quote:

Encountered all kinds of snow putting qround with family at Steamboat over the past couple warmer days and the OG MVP handled it all and never felt weird or out of place. So nice to have camber for the flats.
Considering a -1 MVP 94 for my first custom. Thinking New England firm snow days that I might try to check out the woods and see what they’re like. My fully cambered pipe skis blow if the snow is any bit grabby or fresh.

funny, I'm also a huge GPO fan, to the point I have a spare pair.
Over the last two seasons I ran through every mid-fat 110-118ish ski that I could get my hands on looking for something that just clicked for me. I've sold or am selling everything but a GPO and Wren 114. The GPO is just so good in anything soft.
Woods110 vs MVP. I suck at describing skis but they're very different to me. Woods were much more stout, considerably more rocker/splay. The MVPs less so on both specs. On3Ps floated better, but MVPs are still more than adequate. It could be the flex. Again it was just one clicking more with me in most conditions. YMMV and all of that.
Something else worth mentioning. I used to mount back from the line on different Praxis skis but the current MVP and GPO are both just slightly fwd of the recommended point (due to hole conflicts) and I find them awesome like this.

Im looking at my next CAST set up. Thinking enduro core veneer mvp 108. My ul gpo has been great and now a friend is really enjoying them. I wouldnt put CAST on them or ski them inbounds though. I'd say enduro core is a nice 50/50 balance of light vs damp. Others may disagree

Here to say the current stock MVP 108 graphic wasn’t my top choice either, but it’s really grown on me. Paired with Raw P15s.
The skis too are awesome. 11 days total now, they do everything I need. Including ski switch mounted on the line. I’ve been pushing that the last few years, I’m skiing greens and blues backward with pretty good confidence, a skill learned in my late 30s.
I’m a 6’ 155lb endurance runner and I think the stock 4 flex works for me in the 188cm length. Not a super charger as a skier, but I’m strong enough to go all day and have no issues with them by the end.
Also, the rocker splay has definitely increased a bit with use. I initially thought it seemed too minimal for what I wanted of the ski, but now I have no complaints.
