Whew! Made out ok on that. Recently bought a deity copperhead stem. I like the 5mm fixing bolts. Not many companies use 5mm. My old syntace did and i missed that. Dont really have to over tourque the bar fixing bolts but i'll generally put a bit extra on the steerer clamping bolts and , of course, stronger bolts

Congrats on using up one of your 9 lives, that's terrifying. And a good FYI that everybody should have a 5nm torque wrench if you're going to work on your bike ESPECIALLY if you have anything carbon you're torquing.
I noticed a large crack in the back of my Giro Atlas from where i duno SO it was time to look for a new helmet which is daunting if you got a big fucking head with corners cuz nothing fits BUT the LBS had an XL Bell Sixxer which fit well and looks smart so cha ching !

Four bucket Xt's have been a game changer. Rode my old single buckets last night on another bike and can't believe the difference. The web site says 15% increase in stopping power. It was a lot more for me. Best bike investment in recent memory.
John_B, that is insane. Glad you're ok. More reasons to go with Deity, I guess. Might wanna check out the Copperhead. Same price range as Turbine, super stiff and burly. 5mm hardware. Lots of pretty machining so it's not TOO heavy.
So a month ago I tore apart the perpetually creaking headset on my '16 Stumpy and realized the integrated bearing cups were toast from too many hard licks. I could no longer keep the bearings from rocking so she was retired.
I picked up this '17 Scout frame off PB and just finished building it this morning. It's a mashup of parts and was a blast to assemble. Pressed in all new bearings first then put it together.
-Rockshox revelation 150mm fork
-Cane creek Db coil shock
-Shimano XT 2 pot brakes with icetech rotors
-Roval wheels and hubs
-Sram 11x42 10 speed paired to Raceface 32 tooth on Atlas 30mm cranks
-Fox transfer 125mm dropper with PNW components loam lever

All built up! XO Eagle drivetrain, shifter and derailleur courtesy of Rideit. Rotor Capic cranks with their threaded BB, 30mm alloy axle, and 30t round chainring. Their BB spacer kit looks clean and takes the guesswork out of assembly.
The Rotor North America gang in Salt Lake are awesome, highly recommend hitting them up. Rebuilt the OneUp V1 170mm dropper from my fat bike, works flawlessly. New Code RSC brakes with TRP rotors 203fr/180rr. A bit of a challenge with the IS (parallel) 160 rear brake brake mount but got it dialed. Finished off with SQ Labs 612 Active Saddle (I'll never ride another saddle again), ESI Chunky grips and Time Speciale 8 pedals.
Rides so nice, so fast on rolling terrain and climbs, quite capable on the down. I can feel the vertical compliance built in to the rear end via the bowed seatstays. The silence and engagement of the Onyx hubs is dreamy. It's getting more trail time than my Firebird.
