Yeah! I gravitated towards Greene & Greene, craftsman style along with Japanese way back when. ‘Who wouldn’t want to live in a house like that’ was my mentality.

Too bad they are all in Pasadena. I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, and am glad I don't live there anymore. Back in the 10's and 20's the place must have been unfucking believable. Probably one of the greatest places on earth, Now, no so much. I've been hike the hills above Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre again (did it a lot in my formative years), and am always amazed at just how great an area it is(was), and could be again with about 5 million less people.
The Mushroom House in Pittsford, NY. Built in 1970 it is one of a number of homes located around the world owned by the current owner and is available to rent for $7000/mo.

haha totally
I like the window in the foyer (def pronounced foiā too)
Imagine the carpenters and masons and whatnot building it. "The fuck are we building?" "No clue."
Powder Mills Park. My very first lift served skiing was on the rope tow. The ski jump they built in 1938 was still there. Still has a rope tow on 100' of vert I think and a lot of groomed XC trails. The only time I had my bell rung while skiing was on those XC trails.

Been spending time in pacific heights lately, could wander this neighborhood for a long time.
So many incredible houses.

There was a mag like 10 years ago that fixed up an a-frame up by Baker. Had this super awesome stone stairway up to a deck in front, tucked in the forest all PNW style. Super cool.
Edit: I even started a thread about it. Forgot it was PNWBrit's place. Photos appear to be gone though but it was awesome.

This is pretty much my dream in retirement. Cool little a-frame, nice BMW wagon, in ski country. Unless the knees go out, then its time to set sail with Capt Morgan.

nice, that's mine too. there are some on the east side of main street in Breckenridge that might fit that I had been looking at that I thought were affordable, considering they were in Breckenridge as everyone wants a house on the west side because it's closer to the slopes. it's 50/0 on that or somewhere in new England, my non ski favorite area.

Billionaires row
^I'd live in that place no problem
I might fall down that mesmerizing staircase though
Link gave me a seizure. That's been on the market for a few years.
I'd want more than a 1/4 of a city block for my 30m.

I'd like to find a buildable lot in the right area. I'd put up one of these (a) and live/work in it for a year while I build (b) the main home then this would be the office or guest house.
a (but with a bigger deck)
