Cub Creek is non-motorized USFS trail and not open to ebikes, FYI. Same with North Elk. They're allowed in Staunton as it is a state park.

Didn't hey recently change the structure to make sure more of the funds generated by the ski areas benefit the areas where they are located? But yeah, there aren't many FS officials round these parts considering our NF os the most visited in the nation, they are spread quite thin. I went many years without buying OHV tags and never got busted, but now I buy them out of principle. They've (local trail builders funded by OHV grants, not the FS) built and continue to build a bunch of trails right across from my house.
I had a goal for a lot of years of cleaning cub creek on the up without any dabs. Got close but never pulled it off. It’s just so deeply anaerobic that you mess something up.
That to Staunton is an incredible ride. I don’t live locally anymore but gosh I miss it.
