"Dookey can't get his thumb out of his ass and decide what his plan is."
The only thing I put in my ass is gum, cuz I like to pop shit.
Looking like I'll be headed up REALLY late on Thursday as I'm trying to cop tix to see either Atmosphere or Elbow on the 8th. So I prolly won't be leaving SF until well after the Witching Hour, stopping for a quick nap at the familial cabin in Truckee and then getting up hella early to make the final drive through Reno to Mammoth for a 10amish rendezvous.
At least that's the plan at the moment.
Bumping for Friday night stoke:)http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...07/045copy.jpg
Get on up here.

Hee, hee.
I'm tentatively looking into going up on Thursday, so if anyone is looking for a carpool let me know (I help with gas $). Lego will be driving me back...he's not arriving until Friday evening. With that said, I'm also looking for a place to crash on Thursday night only...maybe Fort FKNA.
Linds, we'll take care of you...at least for the night. The drive, though, I could get you from someplace near the 405.
I ought to be headed up early on Thursday, Girl of Dive. This should put me in your vicinity at the height of Inland Empire morning traffic.
This looks cool. I'd be coming from Seattle, and could fly into LA or Reno. I'd just need a lift to the resort...and somewhere to stay..

PM Ubersheist - I think he's looking to get a hotel room or something with showers and a bed.
Viva - that could work too as it may be more convenient than meeting up with YC. Thank you for the offer. I'll let you know closer to the date. Should I bring dog treats or is Raffie staying home?
not to be a freeloader or anything, but last year folks had some buddy tickets where if you got like 4 people together tix were incrementally cheaper or something like that. i remember i used one of them for me, Sprite, and another Eastcoaster (sorry, forgot his name as we only rode 1/2 day together and then he took Sprite to l'hopital).
do any of the Mammoth faithful/local have any lines on cheap/cheaper ticket hook-ups?
It doesn't exist anymore. Now, you have to buy 3 days in advance, no refunds, and it's good for Friday, only.
Who all is planning to camp? If there isn't a lot of people, anyone looking at splitting up a hotel?
i'm camping regardless...
i camped solo last year and it was kinda cool, except for the night the wolves circled my tent and howled for hours and the woodchucks running off with my TP supply, and the birds getting into my granola stash...and then there was that rabid moose
cool--we'll sing campfire songs and wish that it was less of a hassle to carry firearms in checked luggage!
Hey Dere,
Unless *shit happens* :rolleyes2, Cinders & I plan to come on down with Sinecure!! Yay! :D
So, his truck may be full up now...
We are wussing out on the "dirt-bag" camping at Fort FKNA, though, and are hoping to get a room, near the base/lifts. Hot tub, showers and soft beds...mmmh ;)
Sinecure says there are lots of Condo's.
Can any of you make any recommedations? Or warn us away from the lousy ones?
I thank you :yourock:
I'm going to throw this out there one last time. It's about $400 to drive down and back from Whistler, so if anyone wants to co-pilot it'd only be half that, or a bit less if you're down in WA.
If no one jumps on this opportunity to cruise in the Mystery Machine in the next couple of days, I'll probably just book a flight to Reno.
I'm still looking into accomodations so would be up for splitting on a condo.
I thought about camping but couldn't haul all my gear with me on the plane...if someone has a site and would be up for sharing cookstove/pots/pans/etc. I would be interested.
Schralp - what really needs to happen is for you to call the tickets office at Mammoth and ask about group deals. Typically resorts offer a couple freebies if you bring a group in, and then the the cost savings can be split up amongst everyone. Don't tell them you're def coming, though....bait them with a little bit of 'I might bring these people there instead of Mt. Hood if there's a good deal to be had....'
And who the hell was so quick on the shutter with this shot???????
Two seconds later looks like it would have been golden.

Sinecure, you still camping?
Splat, thanks for the good idea ... but today was not the day to try it. It's the last day of their discount pass sales for next season and they're swamped. The people I talked to on the phone could have really given a rats ass about getting more people on the mountain for that weekend.
I'm on the fence ... anyway, I'm a possible carpool from East Bay / Sacramento area, but really in doubt regarding my personal $$$ situation.
Accomodation + Lift-tick, at Mammoth Mtn Inn, for $111 (+taxes, etc.) per person, per night.
Minimum stay 2 nights, you need at least 2 people. The ticks are for the day(s) after you check in.

Cinders & I are prolly either sharing a Condo "located between the Village, and Canyon Lodge" with Sinecure, and possibly others, or going for this.
What do you reckon? Go with this, or stick with the Condo?
