I was waiting for my husband to get back from a trip to watch the episode so finally got to see it- and it was excellent to echo the rest.
When you nailed the line early I remarked aloud about what the rest of the video would be about and my husband said -“now they go freeskiing!” And it did not disappoint.
That chinese finger trap protection that was used in the mixed climbing route that you just “pull” down a dozen times [emoji33]
Also liked seeing muted’s name on the credits too!
“I think that being in the mountains is a process of destroying your ego. It's good to push yourself, but live to enjoy the moments. So much of being a storyteller is showing people that it's not about the number, it's about the friends. I’d rather fail or back off and be high-fiving afterward with my friends.” -Alka/Cody

Bump. Elyse and Jackie's new film dropped last week for free on RedBull TV, give it a watch: https://www.redbull.com/us-en/films/here-hold-my-kid
I watched it last night with my wife and we enjoyed it, both as skiers and parents. Jackie and Elyse did some ripping skiing (moms throwing backies???) and Cody+Reine's cameos were funny. Good stuff and worth the watch.
^^^ holy shitballs.
One of the best ski movies in years.
Those girls rip.
But the writing and storytelling was hilarious.
That kick was weak. But not as weak as your pelvic floor. Hah!
PS. [edit shouldn’t spoil it] ending was a plot twister. Didn’t see that coming.
Hold My Kid was great.
^Just watched it last night as well. Very enjoyable.
But holy shit- Elyse was inches away from falling into that shrund!
When is the next episode of The Fifty scheduled to release, or are we done for this season?
Might there be some other short clips posted from lines skied during the Polar Star trip?
Cody Townsend and Crazy Karl...are they the same person? They look very similar, and I've never seen them in the same room together.

Pretty much a new standard at this point as it's a throw-back to decades-old formulas. Ripping world-class skiing & filming complimented with absolutely hilarious writing and acting.
But this time it's better because it's mom. It's not a "rad skier" being self-deprecating, it's an entire industry taking the piss out of itself. Reine looked genuinely annoyed while Cody looked genuinely like he was trying to win Reine's approval. "Did you have coffee this morning?" "Yeah. I like it."
Major hats off to this entire team.
Mom shreds, yo. She throws down big lines, crashes hard, then throws down big lines again... all post-kid. Mom shreds, yo.
P.S. the dirty diaper into Elyse's face was downright hysterical. I could smell it. Popcorn aroma, the right color. Everything. So genuine. Nothing about this film felt fake. And I guess it takes good friends to feel comfortable enough with each other to show how real a story can be. I could feel the friendship between these families. That's dope shit.
So congratulations to jeremy Jones on scoring the Power powder parent Deal. He EARNED it.
This cody dude does not seem like he could maintain any ski related social media following. Elyse should ditch him asap.
Tapped right in to the fun vibe — I enjoyed it!
Not self-serious or even self-consciously pandering…just fun!
+1 more for “Here Hold My Kid”. I think when the diaper came out of the pocket “why do you have that?” was genius. Great work
I guess you have to have kids to find the majority of the film remotely funny, but the skiing was good and the industry needs to target that demographic I suppose. I'm glad they have found a place to still fit in and pay the rent.
I don’t have kids. I thought the movie was really well done and funny. My wife laughed a bunch of times and she finds most ski/bike films intolerable.
Kudos to the writers and producers and of course the talented skiers and actors. My wife must have said “this is really well done!” ten times while watching it.
You probably found it but it looks like you can rent it through Vimeo (https://vimeo.com/ondemand/diamantdesalpes)
I liked the kid movie. MTM probably missed most of the jokes as they come at you pretty fast and deadpan, and there's no laugh track. :) I mean it was silly and goofy, but at least it was different. And the skiing was good.
Hold My Kid is hilarious.
rReally well done
So are there any more episodes coming this year?
Probably the most trivial dumb question but...where did Cody find a white gopro helmet mount?
HSU Surf Mounts and Accessories for Ski, Snorkeling, Surfing, Wakeboarding Fitting GoPro Hero 12,11,10,9,8,7, 6,5 Black, Silver, AKASO Campark, and Other Action Cameras (Surfing Kit) https://a.co/d/5d94wvw
Hmm... these look more ligit:

Yeah, the surf mounts are a backup option but the one he's running is different style:
Attachment 477841
The black marks makes me wonder if its just a painted curved mount and we're seeing the paint wear through though.
Watched Hold my kid while baking liners.
Hot! Hot! Hot!
Cody, how often do you and Bjarne get fucked up, I mean REALLY fucked up on Tincup?
asking for a friend ....
.
I’ll echo what a lot of other mags have said - this is the only ski media my wife watches and she loves it. She really doesn’t watch any other TV or movies or YouTube shows of any type- but she gets excited if there’s a new 50 episode to watch over dinner. She frequently comments on how “Cody and Bjarne just seem like such good geunine people”
Anyway - when you two are done this project on your terms (and I hope you guys know that however that looks is fine by your fans) I hope you guys get a break and a change in thought process as a reward. Maybe start “The Thrifty” where you drive your vans around checking out the best cheap burrito in every state (with some skiing thrown in on the side)? Just brainstorming here.
Or just enjoy some home life and local skiing - you guys have more than earned it.
x4000 on how good Hold My Kid is. There is impressive skiing but it’s truly a solid comedy. Excellent effort.
Watch it on Red Bull TV.
Cody, gear question: Any thoughts on the mount point for the QST Echo with a tech binding? Did you go with recommended MTN line?
The Baffin documentary was rad. Y’all got after it!
I'd love to see them just go find lines they've always eyeballed, be it from the car, plane, helicopter, etc. and ski those. Just exploring and having fun.
What is awesome about the 50, IMO, is that it is relatable (for the most part).
We've all gone on trips where the snow isn't great, where the conditions cause us to turn around, etc. but most ski films neglect this aspect of the experience.
I don't think there are any other series or movies out there that do such a good job of this.
i'll be sad when it's over
