Mountain lion attack on pipeline in Millcreek

Ooooof, that's scary. Not exactly a remote and unpopular spot.
Kitties are everywhere lately, there was one roaming Wheeler farm this spring that was relocated and apparently another one is back down in the neighborhood, it was spotted on a security cam 3 houses down from where I live. The dog has been going crazy whenever we go to the small park 5 minutes away, kitty must be hanging down there.
In other news, it's about as close to perfect as it gets up high with cool temps, some moisture in the dirt, and the tree show starting in earnest.

If you squint you can see the end of the beer line and the red snake from Snowbird Dicktober fest:

First time venturing into silver fork. A lot of it is above my pay grade but was good to push it a little. Lower half was a blast!

^^^ Noice!
Silver is definitely a wild ride, between the tailing surfing at the top and the mega chunk on the "dirt road" portion at the bottom, quite full value.
Every time I do Silver Fork, I tell myself "this is way rowdier than I remember"
I definitely need to do another Larry lap before it snows.
^looks nice....need to get all up in upper bcc, but other projects be priorities...

Just rode Honeycomb Canyon, holy crap that rock garden was awesome. Kinda a bear to get up to though.

Beautiful out there right now!

That 1/4 mile will loosen all yer teeth faster than any other ride in the area too. Definitely the chunkiest gnarliest piece of trail around. There's steeper, there's probably chunkier, but not the combination of both at that length. Catherine's comes close but it doesn't have the concentrated brutality I think and there's no way to carry as much speed on Cathy without dying. Honey will let you believe you can actually maintain some speed then BAM, into a gigantic rock you go.
Gorgeous out there lately, cold air, fired up trees, no people:

Dude! Honeycomb looks gnaaaaarly! This is good info, i think I'm gonna give silver fork a go on Sunday.
If anyone wants to go give Honeycomb or something else a ride I'd be interested. Lots of time midweek, not a lot of people to ride with
Annual visit to Heber and the Coyote area yesterday. Hot as hell but I'm comparing to my last ride there in December so it's not entirely fair. The foliage is peaking right now, absolutely beautiful with a mixture of bright red oaks and golden aspens:

There's been some new development on the north end with a couple new trails on top of the new Wile E Coyote loop built last year. OK trails, machine-built twisty stuff in the oaks. I have the usual complaints about downhill flow trails requiring insane amounts of pedaling coming out of every switchback but once they set in a bit more they'll be a fun way to get more mileage in. For now the dirt is so soft it's really hard to get any speed or trust the berms.
The front side above UVU also has a new trail called Mordor, a black that finally makes use of some terrain features instead of going around them. Lots of hucks to flat in the upper part to some much better built techy flow down low. Worth the additional climbing if you're in the area.
Go get it. It’s dusty still but holy crap the colors! TDS/flagstaff/bowhunters/deer camp/flagstaff/9k/Black Forest/tts/Mojave/skidder(thanks mar! Rip trail)/cmg. So good. I really hope they fix bowhunters. I love that trail. Nothing amazing but best views in PC. New ski runs for that monstrosity have blown it up. Attachment 429318

I used the phrase ‘techy-flow’ to describe Hazard on TWE today. It was in the best shape I have ever ridden it, so, so fun. They did a ton of work in the last year or so.

Damn it’s beautiful out there right now. We need some rain.
About to head up to PC with the lady, who is most definitely not down to get gnarly on the bike. Any recommendations on a nice easy leaf peeping loop?
Not to sound like a broken record, but it was very nice today.
@DTM, inspired by your Larry loop.
One of the best rides of the year for me. The level of gnar going down was perfect! Loved it.
