Gravel/Bikepack nerds enter...

I pulled the trigger on a Factor LS Gravel.
I was not impressed with the 2 stock color options after seeing real life photos of them built up.
I convinced Factor to do a custom color/paint option for me, raw carbon with gloss finish with chrome decals....

Planning on building it with:
-DuraAce 12s Di2, 50/34 w 11-34.
-Pro Vibe bars, seat post and saddle
-DT180, straight pull, 28h hubs laced to 22mm ID/28mm OD/28mm deep carbon rims.

Just need a buy a:
-Di2 junction
-T47A bottom bracket
-32ish mm slicks
-and a stem, once I figure out the reach I need.

Its actually a T47A. Which means Asymmetrical.
So one cup is Internal and one cup is External.

Only a few brands offer it, Ceramic Speed, BBInfinite, Hambini, Kogel, all are pricey options.
To not spend $400 on a Ceramicspeed, guys were buying one full external T47 BB and one full internal T47 BB to make an economical T47A by combining them, but now Wheel MFG just released one, and its pretty reasonably priced.

Blurring those lines between gravel and road. Love it. That'll be a great ride. Dura Ace long cage.

That Factor is so hawt! I love the raw carbon with the contrast stickers. It will be like 95% of the performance of a dedicated road bike, but with so much more versatility. I love that the 12s cassette is an 11-30 with a bonus 34.

I looked up T47A. WTF? What's Factor's reasoning? Did the bike industry not have enough BB "standards"? Jeez.
I recently upgraded the GF to Di2 and had to use ebay to obtain a bar-end junction box. Luckily it arrived NIB as claimed.

22mm Internal Diameter rims might be a little odd looking, though. ;)

The new 12S Di2 is wireless from the shifter, Its so nice not to deal with an A-Junction or wires from the cockpit. I'm okay with a wire or two from the derailleurs to the battery.

Who said "diameter"? You're the one who's always worked up about the misuse of Diamater when referring to rim width.

Everyone should expect a huge thread of all the non-compliant parts that vendors sent me, not as described, for my two current builds. Crank sets, bottom brackets, stems, and take off parts too. I have enough to build a third bike across all of the falsely labeled or mistakenly shipped pieces.

About two years ago we received a lot of pushback from our production partner in TW about "T47 is so hard to find! Your customers will hate this! You need two different tools to work on it!"

We were perplexed as we'd happily been using T47 since 2019 on other models of our bikes. T47 with a 68mm/73mm shell is the smart successor for BSA now that larger crank spindles and internal routing are the norm. T47 internal sucks because of the ridiculously small tool purchase on all of the cups.

Anyways, our production partner sent us a bottom bracket to demonstrate what they meant as we were at odds. It was a T47A bottom bracket. They were relieved to hear that we weren't using that and I was disappointed that the bike industry can't stop messing with bottom brackets for the sake of marketing.

Looks hideous to my eye. Aero gravel bike is just wrong, lines are so busy. Hate that fork, also. Bike is a nightmare! Looks like it will be great in the Kansas mud, or not. Clearance looks way tight on both the frame and the fork. Hard pass, come on Italy, I expect more from you. Italian gravel bikes are kinda beat, yes?

Signed up for Telluride Gravel today. It’s a sweet course. Probably will be riding through some snow banks this year.
Gonna be a solid three weeks of curly bar riding.
Week 1: Underground T-ride gravel event
Week 2: Iron Horse Road Race then Gravel Fondo the next day(probably the short course)
Week 3: Telluride Gravel.

GT Peace 9er. Picked it up several years ago to have a dedicated bike for pulling kids in a Burley trailer. They've outgrown that and it seemed a shame to let a nice(ish) Reynold 520 frame go to waste. (In case it wasn't already obvious fom the the duct tape patched $2 bucket also in the photo that I sometimes try to squeeze more life out of something than necessary)

Just got an email stating that the production schedule will have my frame produced and complete by April 10th.
A little later than I had hoped, as I'm swamped building bikes that time of year, but it "is what it is" when ordering custom requests, and buying from a small manufacturer with their own production facility.

Pretty rad little boys trip. Sounds like you just need a consistent supply of nightly beer to make the trip happen!

They didn't come close to doing the whole GDMBR. The title is pretty clickbaity.

It sure would be nice to be that young again (just beat your body up every day and come back again for more) like I was when I did the GDMBR in 2001. But even then I knew how to shop for food and not depend on random strangers for handouts, like these guys claim to have done.

Are you sure? The screen clip at :27 shows 29 days, 3,145 miles, & 32,405 ft elevation.

They tapped out in Santa Fe so they skipped most of NM. Still a pretty nice ride
