CrockPot works just fine.
i second the CrockPot, it's easy.
i use the 'mini' crock.
low temp, 24 hrs.
i use my vapor abv, 1 zipper and a stick of unsalted butter, fill with water.
let it do it's thing for the full 24, strain thru a couple of layers of cheesecloth into some Tupperware.
place in fridge for 10 hours, the butter will rise to the top.
pop a corner of said butter and carefully drain the water, scrape any ugly from the bottom of butter, enjoy.
edit:use rubber kitchen gloves when you strain it, really work it, every drop counts.
