Agreed… but as we’ve covered many times - Americans don’t buy trucks to do truck stuff. The bed is just there for style points…

I want an e-kei truck with dumper functions for truck things. /wrongthreadjong
At about 4:00 he shows a lot of the cool features. It can definitely do “truck’ things.

Saw this today. I guess this guy disagrees.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f4eb1db4a0.jpg

The actual range of the truck w/o camper is 240 miles in mild weather temps if you keep it at 70 mph and got the biggest battery. So figure 170 miles with shitty aerodynamics of the 4WC. So figure he can drive 80 miles to a remote camp spot. Not useless but not exactly awesome.
Can't edit post due to the shitty state of forum but I meant '4WC style'.
Yup, petty much.
And considering most of the places I want to go camping are somewhat remote and therefore lacking charging infrastructure, it seems fairly useless. I'm not gonna bother putting a camper on a vehicle where my realistic range limitation is ~2 hours from my house.
My next regular car will almost certainly be electric. But electric trucks that actually get used for truck stuff have a ways to go.

Most developed campgrounds don’t allow vehicle charging either so you would have to drop your trailer or whatever and then drive to a charging station. Electric van build with a predictable range would be a better option. I’ve seen quite a few of them at the surf beaches in California.
“Truck stuff” as you guys seem to refer to it is a pretty narrow definition.
When I drove a truck for landscaping and construction work, that truck seems about perfect. I always thought the electric platform would be perfect for farm and construction stuff, because every day you’d park it in the same location and it would be charged and ready to go for your next day’s work.
^agreed.
EV makes a ton of sense for local service / local contractor / local delivery type businesses.
The only thing that really scratches that itch right now is the Ford E-Transit…. F150 lighting only comes in the ballroom version; no regular cab-long bed-plastic seats version…

My friends who own a small farm have the Lightning XL extended range. It has vinyl seats and floors. Huge backseat to transport sensitive greens to the farmers market. Bed for dirty stiff And the bed is compatible with any aftermarket items that fit the short bed f150 in any trim unlike the GM above.

Just out here doing cybertruck things.
we have a Nissan leaf for sale. Has been the cheapest to operate car we have ever had. For running around town it is unbeatable.
2015 Nissan Leaf SV https://cars.ksl.com/listing/9348668
If you run the transaction through an online broker, you can get the tax credit. End up with an electric car for super cheap.
In Salt lake.
Good price on that Leaf, I've been tire kicking on Craigslist, and the ones in the 5K 6K range usually are down to a few dozen miles of range.
A few years back I recall people were buying leafs super cheap and then replacing the battery for a huge savings.
