I don't know if they're gonna reopen this thing today. Sitting here in GTown and it doesn't even look like they're trying. It's been shutdown for almost an hour now.
What in the world makes someone think that TODAY is the day to tow your boat up??
What gets me is that they don't even create a means for people to get off and turn around and go home. If it closes, you're just supposed to sit there indefinitely.
Looks like traffic is moving over there. I think they may have just reopened it. Now hopefully I can squeeze through before it inevitably shuts down again.
You guys should PM alabama/montana skier and see if he can start a thread about how much I-70 sucks...
Fuck. Looks like it's already done again. Traffic stopped and I see the emergency lights just past the on ramp at GTown.
Angry inch in Vail, lol. Fatty flakes outside right now, but melting on contact, should be raining all afternoon. It's warm out.
Hahaha only 100 of us at Loveland this morning. So rad
I'm through!
CDOT claimed they were checking for snow tires and/or chains for reopenings. Never saw it. Wish they would.
Georgetown hill is like running a gauntlet right now. Pure carnage. And that boat pictured earlier? It's sitting right in the middle of I-70 on the hill. No truck in sight. I guess he just ditched it. LOL
Loveland is fuuuun but heavy snow. Big fuck you to the boat and horse trailer blocking I70 at Gtwn
CDOT closed I-70 WB at MM 259. They say cars need chains/snow tires when they reopen. https://www.facebook.com/coloradodot...326994288875:0
CBAC reporting 24" this morning at Schofield Pass, and 14" in Taylor Park. Dumping all day. Stoked for the springtime bump
Leaving denver for breck around 5 tonight. Should I just avoid I 70 entirely and take the back way via 285? Or is that likely to be a shitshow? Should I be worried about the pass closing?
So sweet. Haha. Only reason I made it was becauee I took the off/on ramp in Gtown which allowed me to just squeeze through and bypass the carnage. Gotta say the roads were shit.
Just be glad you were one of the lucky ones. Snow wasnt too heavy for me....
We all know montanaskier started the 70 bitch thread, no need to be condescending. I also knew you were being sarcastic. This ain't my first internet rodeo fella so quit tooting your clown horn. At the end of the day, he probably doesn't give a shit, I'm positive he'll chime in here soon enough in his usual ways, but the first 24 hours after such a loss can be brutal. His buddy of 16 years died, and if you were paying any attention you would have known this, too.
Regarding the boat, pics I've seen of it parked on the side near the rocks at the incline. So, did it slide back to the center of the freeway, or was it in the middle of road before he moved it to the side?
Sunny again in Vail. We're just not getting any accumulation, it's just too warm. Gotta love spring. Fruita will hopefully be dry by mid-week next week. Another storm setting up for later next week. ..
Legit powder day and a much needed shot in the arm for the snowpack. Good stuff.
We barley missed the circus this morning and this afternoon, foot plus at wp, bp at least 2 ft. I-70 was closed both ways, eerie driving back with no one on the road!!
Just saw a different perspective shot of boat man, it truly is in the middle of the fucking right lane. How in the....
I hope he gets a massive fine to go along with that ticket.
