no. the discussion was about taking psychedelics for longer races. i was asking if people took psychedelics that are known to last longer that LSD-25, such as "STP".
I like Huma Gel with caffeine?
I think this guy does psychedelics on his loong ass bike races/ adventures

Well. I ran 6 miles tonight and felt good about it until that video.
Thanks a lot!
Seriously though.
I can't imagine how many pairs of shoes he'll go through a month.
Good to have sponsors I guess.
For now, I have no desire to run anymore than a full marathon.
But that might change down the line.
Who knows.
bumping an old post with an update.
i ended up buying belleville mini-mil tactical boots to fill my needs. i have worn them almost every day for 9 months; from shuffling around town, to heavy manual work on our property, to long walks, to swimming, to short runs. they've been great. I had no idea I would end up in a boot, let alone an 8" tactical boot. i often wear them with the laces untied, treating them like a slip-on (almost). i got them on sale, too, for less than $100.
Every ultra runner I've ever talked to has told me that a trail 50K is easier and more pleasant than a road marathon. I've only ever done road half marathons, but did those for time. I was more sore after some of my halves (halfs?) than I was after my trail 50K.
They never ran Baldy Peaks 50K.

That's almost always true. On a typical road marathon course the runner takes tens of thousands of nearly identical strides, which unduly taxes certain muscles @ the same range of motion over and over and over. OTOH, on a trail ultra course the terrain is mixed, so a variety of muscle groups are engaged for different stride lengths, e.g., different muscle groups and different stride lengths are used respectively for flats, low angle uphills, steep uphills, low angle downhills and steep downhills.
In a typical trail 50K, all but the elite runners walk many or most of the uphills. (Some of them can walk uphill unbelievably fast.) Indeed, on a 50K course with rough steep trail, the strong uphill hiker often has a big edge over a fast runner.
After a typical road marathon, my legs are completely wasted for at least a week. After a typical PNW 50 trail ultra with, say, 6,000' verts, I usually walk 18 holes of golf the following day and start jogging 3 days out.
I'm doing it wrong, I only run on water:(
How cute. I fucked the 4th place women's finishers from one year.

Typo. But a threesome with a couple of those gals would have been okay.

Devil Mountain 50k in the books. Course was easier than I expected. Knee hurt even more than expected. Did a whole lot of speed walking the second half, when I should have been cruising moderate downhills. Too much pain to run to push myself, so I never felt all that tired. Will do another one of these, maybe a 50 miler, to see what I'm cable of without a pre-existing injury.
Going to see the PT tomorrow. Guessing I won't run much the rest of the month to let this thing heal. Hopefully I can hike with a heavy pack pain free soon. Time to get ready for skiing.
