Back to the Reserve for the balance of the season.

Mini TR
Course: Schaffer's Mill
Date: September 2nd, 2012
Players: Round 1, yours truly and Mrs. Cranked; Round 2, yours truly
Walk/ride?: Walking...always walking
Rounds played at the lovely Schaffer's Mill, a semi-private beauty designed by Miller and the late Harbottle. The course will turn fully private once we get enough membership, but non-members can play from 10am-3pm each day, likely through the end of next season. Clubhouse, pool, etc are all under construction right now...the development was star-crossed in 2007, but with new owners, is off and running.
The course itself is awesome...the front nine is the "meadow" nine, and the back nine is dubbed the "mountain" nine (~400+ feet of elevation gain make it an energizing walk/carry...I was dusted after looping it twice yesterday).
Mrs. Cranked and I teed off at noon on the first loop (I play the tips, she plays women's tees)...this is her first real season of golf, and she is showing massive improvement. She did a lesson with Keith Lyford earlier this year...the guy is amazing (tops in N Cal, as voted by his fellow PGA Pros). She went personal best yesterday with a legit 54-56 (no mulligans, etc).

Completed round 2 in about 2:40, walking. Final score 43 (with 4 doubles), 40 for a crowd pleasing 83.
Solid day all around...
That's pretty badass, actually. Color me pleased.
Can't remember who was looking for wedges but here, re-outfit yourself for $160 total: http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/clevel...p-grooves.html

My dad played a lot for 50 years as a 8-11 HDCP and only had one Ace.
81 at Willows Run, Coyote Course, this weekend. SEVEN three putts. No driver.
Just recalled I had a 1 on a par 3 too, but it didn't count. Rules at the time didn't recognize an ace unless it was during an 18 hole round and I was "playing a couple extra holes" after my 9 hole league.
Well the gods giveth and taketh away, don't they.
Last week played 4 rounds at the Lake Placid Club Mountain Course. $25 bucks for 18 with cart after 3pm and the course is stunning and well maintained. Shot a 88, 90, 86, 83. The notable thing was I got sicker as the week went along. Some untreated water caught up with right around the middle of the 86 round. At about the same time I started playing really well. 7 straight pars to close te 86 and 6 straight to open the 83. Was shitting my brains out and weak, but nailing balls exactly where I wanted to. Leave 9 and 14 out and I migth have had a shot at 79.
I take a week off and go out yesterday. Feeling my oats on #1 I crush it. Left.
Then right. Then topped. Then in the woods, the water on 5. Bad bounce into the tall grass on 7. Lost teh ball IN THE FAIRWAY on 11. Monster drive on 14, sail the pitching wedge over the back of the green, into a ravine. All in all I'm not even sure I broke 100.
Golf. It's a motherfucker.
Can't wait to play my next round.
hit a drive over 300 yards on a flat par 4 the other day playing with a friend and his buddy. we were all pretty shocked since most of it was in the air but i guess i caught it just right.
Played in the state Mid-Am this weekend. 74-74-73 for a T-7 finish. Could have won with better putting, but pretty pleased considering the few rounds of golf I've been playing. The course was an awesome Donald Ross design with the toughest greens I've ever played.
Played an afternoon round @ Snoqualmie golf course. Sliced off the first tee under a tree on the side of the fairway . Did a practice swing with my 9 iron under said tree. Clunked a branch on the follow through. Within 5 seconds I am getting stung all over by a swarm of bees. I hit a giant bees nest on my follow through that was right above me Attachment 120866 . Got stung 10 times even though I rolled on the ground and ran full speed afterwards. The rest of my round was mostly awful.
